Anti-Bot monsters

Does anyone know if some spawn at different times of days? I never found magatia ones at all when i was looking during "normal" hours but when I went really late at night, i found them all. I don't think anyone killed them during those times either. I've also checked various ones and some never seem to spawn when i check.

Also, anyone know where the Security Camera spawns? That's the only one I can't find atm

Monsters made to stop botters. Originally for the Asian versions of Maplestory.

We don't really have any use for them, since botting isn't really a big issue.

If you hit the monster, it gives you a message, and sends you to a safe map.

I'm almost positive they spawn like normal monsters. Never heard of a timer for a monster. Besides respawning.

If you just hit the monster? o_o I just L7'ed one of those women chained to a rock things in El Nath, and all I got were two misses. Then I dropped a Jr. Yeti skin onto the altar thing, and it got some buff that let me hit it, and it dropped an ice tear.

Once you dropped the Jr. Yeti skin, you can kill it like any normal monster. If you just started hitting it, you would get sent back to town.

Also, anyone know where the Security Camera spawns? That's the only one I can't find atm

It spawns in the map with Parwen. That's the only map I know of that it spawns in.

I knew what they did, I'm wondering WHAT they are, like the ice woman, security camera...etc.

Just check monster book for any monsters you haven't seen before.

But my question to be put another way is, do the monsters maybe only spawn at certain times of days? Like this particular anti-bot only spawns between 2~5am PST, etc...

I doubt it. The Snow Witch spawned as I was passing through one of those El Nath maps, and it was during the afternoon, Eastern time. That's not exactly a weird hour.

So those are in the Monster Book? Wow, I wonder how long it would take to get 5 of those cards!

They just have really, really long spawn times. I know that Shade and Snow Witch spawn, I've seen them, but I haven't encountered any of the others.

What's the point in them having cards, by the way? Aren't the monsters there so that botters would get caught? Having people hunt them is like helping the botters.

I've encountered the security camera (I think?) and the one that spawns in the room with homunscullus or whatever it's called.

The other two magatia ones i saw but only at night.

Maybe the spawn time on some are longer than others. I check some of those places regularly and never see them while others i do.

I just went through over 50 channels (19 channels on 3 different maps with some that didn't spawn)

I ran into one of the Magatia ones >< It's called Rurumo and you are told to weaken it with the Poison Spray. However I have no idea how to obtain that o.o Whenever I click the Poison Spray Machine it doesnt do anything.

I think you're supposed to drop a random ect. onto the poison spray. (Like, something from Magatia such as wires or coils).

That's how the hunter's altar works in El Nath so that's how I'm assuming it works in Magatia.

Anyone else find it stupid how the bot catching monsters have spawn timers? I heard originally, it was placed outside of the map and can only be reached via vaccing. Only if you vac it will it come into view and send you back to town.

I fail to see how this current bot monster alleviates the problem as:

1) it spawns infrequently

2) it doesn't even send you back to town 100% (as I've tried, I can successfully avoid it when I aggro it without the hunter's altar activating)

3) it's so easy to kill: if someone vacs monsters to the top of the hunters altar, the ect drop will continuously drop onto the Hunter's Alter. That means that it'll keep activating, and as soon as the witch spawns, the hunter alter's going to disable the witch. Very possibly before it sends you back to town...

Hit it 5 times to make the poison spray come out

kMS doesn't really have a hacking problem though, it's mainly a ton of people botting. That's why they added the pits in pig park and wild boar land, etc. The real failure is the direct copypaste to gMS, alongside korean Nexon's decision to make non-botters actually go out and hunt those monsters for their cards.

My question is, do they actually drop the book cards? Cause it would be a pain trying to get 5 cards for each of them >_>
