Question Wrote:ambition may probably work on reg attack but it might not work on skill attack... if u 100% believe it work im ok but as for mage it seem to be a problem
I have a strong possibility that ambition may only work on weapon attack skill but not magic attack skill
*sigh*
You want skill attack? Here:
Using Intrepid Slash, which does 300% damage per hit. Still not using any buffs. Same stats as in my previous post. Same enemies, Azwan Hell Mode.
Math says:
If I have 98% Ignore Def (Ambition works), Intrepid Slash should hit between: 117536 ~ 167908
If I have 88% Ignore Def (Ambition fails), Intrepid Slash should hit between: 109197 ~ 155987
OK now? With skill attack? Close enough to the top of my range to believe Ambition works fully and not halfway? At least for Heros?
It may well be that Amibition only gives Ignore Physical Defense but no Ignore Magic Defense. MountLag's data support this theory. I would still like to see more data from other classes, both physical and magical.

thank for sharing with us and im sorry for making u work alot
i just want to find out what is really wrong
so far we prove that ambition only has PDR ignore but no MDR
so far we also prove that battlemage MDR ignore is broken
i think u should added these 2 to the bug list since i think we finally have the asnwer to the problem
and thank everyone and im sorry i was being a weird o.0 w/e anyway we got the answer

Also try getting someone else to corroborate your damages, because we know sometimes displayed damage is not actual damage (e.g. 999,999 mage glitch). I think this second part should apply to both SaptaZapta; and Question;, at their convenience of course. This is interesting. I might mess around on my Shadower later tonight if I have a block of time to spare.
For some strange reason, my party-mate in Azwan couldn't see my damage numbers at all. I'm going to have to try elsewhere. Sorry.

Just to clairfy, Its PDR Ignore that isnt working for Mages, correct? I've never seen anything that ignores Magic Defense, Let alone if there is such a thing. Unless i'm being a derp or idk.

Monsters have both PDRate and MDRate in their data. Presumably, one is applied to physical attacks, and the other to magical attacks. Both fields are identical for all monsters I've ever seen, though, so it's rather impossible to test which one is used when.
You are right that all items/skills/stats only say "ignore enemy defense" and never specify physical or magical.
Up until now I would have assumed there is just one number that is used in both physical-damage and magical-damage calculations.
Ambition working for physical but not magical classes (this is just a theory, btw. Could just as well be that it works only for adventurers, or something odd like that), however, seems to indicate that it doesn't apply automatically to both types of attack. And the skills that don't ignore def even though they should, might have an ignore-physical-def value which does nothing (this sort of copy-paste typo is typical of Nexon).
I'd like to see data from a Phantom with high Ambition, whether the ignore-def observed on Rapid Fire (physical) and Chain Lightning (magical) is the same and includes Ambition ignore def or not.

yes i woud love to see a phantom to show some work... but too bad my phantom has 0 % ambition and it just a skill link for critical and dont have max level on steal either
L>for phantom with atleast 3% ambition or higher to show us the detail... i know phantom is news atm so it kinda hard to find a phanton with pretty high ambition

Von Leon and Netherworld Monks have difference values for PDR and MDR.
Can't think of any more.
We could test this on VL if it came to that, though the difference between his defenses is negligible (55 vs 52)

Unfortunately, most sources of ignore def seem to be purely physical for phantoms, although I haven't tested to see which ones. Any results you gather would not necessarily be representative of mages.
EDIT: Scrap that, I have no idea why my magical damage is so much lower than expected. I just assumed it was ignore def.

I have over 160% pdr; this includes mastery, skills, codex, etc. i find this helpful whenever bosses buff up while my pouvoir is on cooldown
my plan is to get a carte finale card with boss to switch with my pdr card

Firstly, I take it you mean 160% Ignore defence. Secondly, that extra 60% is not helping you in any way.

Dumb question but would I have to take a screen shot to do the data? because I not good at the screen shot taking of damage on my mac. I can do everything else though fine. (has a f/p with 4.5 ignoredefence from ambition.
