[1.2.157] The new boss(es)

Rei Wrote:In regards to that SW post (too lazy to find and quote it) and I'm pretty sure he isn't the only person who feels the same.

I don't get why people think this is the final end-game forever boss. And complain because it doesn't look menacing, it's not huge, etc.
People thought Horntail was the last boss of MapleStory.

Who's to say there won't be more?

Yea, it's only level 180. <_<
They can make mobs as high as level 255, so there's plenty of room for improvement.

oh man Fiel why do you make me want to install FF8 again.

I never beat it, got to the final point and then quit for a while so I'd always have "something to play if I got bored". Then the hard drive corrupted. Then I install again on another computer, that hard drive corrupts... asdf.

I still need to beat that FF7 that I recently got from a friend now... :<

Not bad..
The statues are good for a Mage, since every statue allows a Mage to do either normal damage or elemental bonus DMG (No statue is strong to both of one Mage's elements). And then the summons with 138k HP would mean that bringing a few Mages to the run would be beneficial.

However... the big boss itself looks like it's not good for Mages at all.

Also, the boss looks like Wigglytuff + Pikachu mix.

Nope. They can make mobs as high as 0xFFFFFFFF / 2.

 Spoiler

Im just thinking, is that really how the boss fight will look like or is that a "promotional image"? I dont really see how you can hit that statue above the pink rodent... As well, are the other statues on the ground or are they suspended on pedestals (sp?)? Like are warriors/other melee going to have to constantly jump atk or can they just stand and spam their attacks (which produces more DPS).

Overall, to me the boss looks ultimate spamming friendly other than the fact that its strong to most elements but that's just me.

Taiketo Wrote:What does KMS have against Paladins and Mages? Every fucking boss nowadays is resistant to everything. Ergoth, Lord Pirate, even the YETI boss isn't weak to fire.
I agree, the list of elemental resistances pisses me off even though I don't play my Paladin anymore. In every single boss it's all about helping the NL/BM survive while having them do damage. Disappointing.

With the freaking huge damage it does I'm going to have to be lv 400 to have any hope of surviving 1 hit there.

More pointless things I'll never see...great job Nexon.

From What I heard, Element "P" means Physical. WHICH MEANS, THIS BOSS CANNOT BE HURT BY ANY PHYSICAL MEANS!?!
From where I got Element "P" from, the two special Thanatos that Mages have to beat to get their Demon magic have Immune to Element P.

So this guy's resistant to everything? Paladins get really shafted, dishing out both Elemental and Physical damage. .__.

OLOL.
Gonna have to learn to looovee a Mage's single-target DPS now huh? For 2.1 billion HP. Big Grin
The Temple of Time just gets so much more interesting as time passes by.

Though, It says "strong to" not "immune". Which means.
YAY 50% DAMAGE FROM WEAPON ATTACK... ATTACKS?

Personally, I'd love a boss with Neutral Damage "Strong to", and Elemental weakness. Paladins will become very, very popular. XD

IT'S NOT A GOD DAMN PIKACHU. Not even their size is the same. (In proportion to the characters.)

So, I guess this says that the max HP for a monster is the same as the max amount of mesos. Meaning that any boss after this is going to have around the same HP, with a lot of different forms.

Come to think of it, that says something about Horntail, too. The actual thing that you're killing during the fight (that triggers Horntail actually dying, the damage you deal to the parts is being dealt to that thing at the same time) has like 2,090,000,000 HP if I remember right.. So, would that mean Horntail would have more HP/parts if they weren't afraid of going over the HP limit?
Of course it might just be a coincedence it has 2.1bil-ish hp and I'm just thinking into this too much.

But damn, how can a cute pink thing be stronger than horntail? That confuses me.

It's Pikachu on steroids. Steroids make you bigger/stronger.

The game has two numerical limits, 255 and 2,147,xxx,xxx.*
255, when converted to Base 16, is FF. If you're not a math geek, it's kind of like 99, the highest two digit number you can get.
2,147,xxx,xxx is 2^31-1. In Binary, it's
1,111,111,111,111,111,111,111,111,111,110, once again, the highest number they can get without adding more digits. It's got to deal with Bytes and how many the game stores. :/

If you play with pServers, the level max is 255, you cannot level past it, you just start at 0. The Meso/Exp/monsterHP cap is 2.147 billion. If you try to get it past that, it just starts over at 0 or negative 2.147 bil. XD

*I lied, it also has a third, 32,767, which is 2^15-1. I only know of this in stats and gear. ie, 32,767 max Int, Str, Dex, Luk, Atk, Def, ect. on an equip. :/

Steroids don't make you go from about less than a quarter of a size of a human to about double.

And yeah, I know about the numericial limits.. I had never actually considered monster HP had a cap, though. Never really thought about it.

Also, seeing as you tried to explain everything, you forgot to mention that the 2.1bil cap is an unsigned integer, which is why when you go past that it ends up back at minus 2.1bil. Biggrin

"Pikachu" should get a word filter to "Pinkbean". I have no idea why people keep referring to it by a name that could not possibly be any more wrong.

We have a name for it now, either use that or use a non-descript name like "Time Temple boss" to refer to it.

You just say that because it rhymes with your name. >:[

Insane, I took a course on programming in 6th grade. Even then it was about Robots. Never learned about unsinged integers. D: ccpls

Also, we've never tested the effects of Steroids on Pokemon.
