It might work as an offhand if you could crit enough with your mainhand to make it self sustaining, but I still don't see this thing beating out any other well rolled axe/mace.

I will wait 6 months to see how things progress after the "painful lessons". To say the obvious, I hold no overt expectations on grounds of neutrality.

Oh, Internet, how you love witch hunts. If D3 hadn't turned out to be such a disappointment, everyone would be all in support of the D3 dev team.
This isn't about D3 devs saying "pineapple the D2 dev, we know better than him." In the interview, Brevik states that D3 wasn't great because they lost a lot of the talent and experience from Blizzard North. That is something that is very easy to say as an outsider, after their game has been out for a few months and received a ton of criticism. The D3 dev response is, "What did that talent and experience from Blizzard North go on to do? Oh right, create Hellgate: London (which was a huge flop)." If you were working on the sequel to a highly successful game, it ended up being mediocre, and a guy from the team that made the previous game says, "Well no wonder it sucked, I wasn't involved," wouldn't you be pissed?
Max Schaefer has gone on to make the fairly successful Torchlight and the anticipated Torchlight 2, but so far there hasn't been a game that has definitively replicated the success of D2. I really wouldn't trust Brevik to be an expert on what makes a roguelike good.

dont like that they introduce an mf cap, but returns on mf are diminishing anyways* so it shouldnt make much of a difference
*(well, at least... i think theyre diminishing but since blizzard isnt actually letting us know what specifically is going on with the rolls mf affects... its really murky. they could easily be linear or exponentially increasing returns.)

Even after all the datamining of the "Prestige" system, I didn't think we were gonna get it in 1.0.4.
I kinda lol'd @ having 300% MF and GF at max Paragon.
Needless to say, I AM FUCKING HYPED FOR 1.0.4! I don't even know anymore!

Sucks that it's not retroactive. I've spent over 300 hours on my wizard already. I could be a decent level Paragon already

Funny thing, the top bot has 5.7 million lifetime kills. He wouldn't be at Level 100 Paragon even if this was retroactive.

If that's true, then MF gear is going to last a long long long time. I wont be selling mine anytime soon. I may just grab some new pieces if people are dumb enough to offload them cheap right now.

Did something happen with Windup Mage? Asides from the small tweak on Twister proc coef, I don't really see how it's dead.

yeah, it now requires really expensive gear to be viable. in 1.03 you could do it with like 5m. (only needed a couple of expensive things like a decent source)
you either need a hell of a lot more resistance or near max crit for it to be anywhere near as effective as it was. my wiz could probably have completed act 3, i just didnt bother. now... i doubt it. (i guess i never actually finished act 1. weird. i have act 3 unlocked)

Krip just did his annual A3 farm routine, albeit rather sloppy, and netted ~21mil EXP in about 50 minutes. He did the math and it came out to about 30 days from Level 1 -> Level 100 Paragon, assuming you farmed A3 Inferno for 14 hours a day.
