GMS v115 bugs & glitches
SaptaZapta Wrote:I absolutely hate how the scrolling messages obscure buff icons.
They really need to give us a way to turn the scrolling message off after we've read it.

Whatever happened to the GM Board thing at the top of the chat window? That could be used instead of the annoying scrolling message.

Icho Wrote:Thats going a little overboard dont you think? Considering its random when you do your normal damage / 1's / max. If it was confirmed what you had to do to get what then I guess I could maybe see some sort of punishment.

Anyway this patch added more glitches then they fixed...so they are back at square 0.

No, I don't think it's overboard. Obviously they should release an announcement asap and then after that have zero tolerance. You'd have to be stupid not to notice things being way out of whack. There are enough other classes in the game at this point that no one needs to be confined to one character during a glitched period. There's not really a good excuse for abusing it.

The amount of damage you do as a mage(1, normal, or 999,999) seems to be dependent on party buffs being initiated and deactivated.

It's internally overboard and you're being unfair and over-dramatic. If someones main is a mage then they should not be expected to go play other characters because NEXON screws up. The ONLY class you can hold accountable for is the Phantoms who are stealing CL and Paralyze on purpose to monopolize off of this.

Not only that, but to some people this is a major step down. A few of my friends are having a hard time dojoing while my Evan friend is now weaker than before, because he was already doing max.

And if I only want to level my Evan because I no longer have fun with any other class and I'm at an enemy I 1 shot 9 times out of 10 anyways? According to what you are saying, I should still be banned for just being on my Evan and training normally. So far, no one knows exactly how to trigger the 999,999 hits and mages are hindered by this very glitch because we can't control when we hit only 1 damage from our attacks. As has been said before, the mages can't even tell when they are hitting excessively high damage unless they are somewhere they wouldn't normally be. What you suggested is excessive.

If I may even further dispute you, say someone is very well funded (legendary on multiple equips, insanely high stat percent, the works), and they go somewhere that someone of the same class with average equips wouldn't normally be able to go for another say 10 or 15 levels. Now say that well funded mage can normally kill insanely fast (with multiple hit skill). How can you say they are exploiting the glitch or they just have that good of gear? To ban them just because they have very good gear is unreasonable.

I could understand if the glitch required you to do something specific that you would only do to activate this glitch, but given the fact that you literally do nothing and your damage breaks itself, I wouldn't ban anyone unless it were obvious they were milking it. Examples of obvious milking? A level 80 soloing Zakum because they hit cap. A Phantom powerleveling himself at LHC with CL. If you're deliberately going out of your way to use this, then I would ban you. However, if you're just playing your mage, I wouldn't because there's nothing you can do about it.

If it were dependent on party buffs, I wouldn't have the glitch since I am rarely in a party. I would say Arcane Aim has something to do with it, but Battle Mages and Evans don't have that.

Any party buff activated will turn the damage into 1's. The control of it is to entrt a portal and then retun to the orginal map most times it will always activate, if not repeat.for bosses, if this occurs while in the lair you can kill yourself to reset this as well.

Sarah Wrote:Man I hope Nexon 30-day bans anyone who logs onto a Mage for longer than an hour (or is obviously just abusing the glitch)

I highly doubt they will. After all, they didn't do anything to Wild Hunters who took advantage of their mounts removing most of their skills' delays (I myself am guilty of this in order to get to at least level 30 Honor before the Honor Exp nerf).

I always wondered why they didn't use that thing for those skill messages, such as: "You are not high enough to use this skill," or "There are no monsters in front of you to attack."

Your idea is pretty good too, though.

Just wanted to say that I know how to trigger the glitch, it didn't take me very long - about five minutes of testing with a couple friends. I don't think I'll be able to figure out WHY it happens but I can consistently turn the glitch on and off at my whim. I'm sure other people have figured it out by now as well.

Fair enough, some people know how to control it, doesn't change when people don't know how to control it and can't tell that it's happening because they are killing with 1 less attack for every 10 attacks than normal. Those people don't deserve to be banned as Sarah suggests they do.

Then you just don't play for the duration of the glitched period. You wouldn't play if a glitch negatively impacted your class, so why would you play when one is beneficial? It's not a difficult concept. Other factors have no effect on the reality of abusing this glitch. Just because a few ridiculously over-NX'd people can hit that much normally doesn't mean that it's okay for everyone to do it.

And yes, I am saying you should be temp-banned for "playing normally" on your Evan if you are aware of the glitch and using it to your advantage, because you are no longer playing normally. Using it to your advantage would include increased training speeds.

I'm also not saying this is something anyone should be happy with. You should be telling Nexon to fix it as quickly as possible. But people won't because it's not hurting their gameplay (unless they're in a party, apparently. But who needs a party when you hit 999,999 consistently?) and that's the problem. There shouldn't be a double-standard regarding the reception of a glitch. If it's not meant to be there then it's bad, regardless of whether or not it's actually harmful to your experience.

I tried to use the exit button in azwan, and it made the fail message come up, but I never actually left the map and it continued. Pressing the exit button additional times does nothing at all and the only way to exit is to wait for time to run out or clear the stage. However if you clear it does not show the rewards ui.

i do, i've been playing with glitchy skills for ages (obviously not of this magnitude), so have pirates, and how is an evan that already did max damage before the glitch using it for "his advantage"

That's been out since Aswan came out.
Oddly enough, I tried to leave today and it didn't do anything, so I kept attacking and it sent me out 3 minutes later.

The issue with the "glitched" damage should be taken care of ASAP end of story. If its not taken care of in the next few days then there is going to be a lot of these "so called bannings". I feel like the discussion of this thread kinda went to one topic lol.. Anyway

They also acknowledged the Silent Crusade not giving Renegade Coins bug. I wish they would reply to other bug threads...because there are a lot ....Tongue

"Negative impact" and unplayable are different. If the glitch was a somewhat reduced damage, I'd still play. I'd only not play if it was just "hit for 1 damage from all attacks" glitch which makes the character unplayable. And I'll out-right say it (I hate discussing my damage because it's low but whatever), I can fight skeles, I can generally 1 shot them in a normal time period with my flame wheel, but on the rare occasion (no crit and low end of range on all 3 hits), they might survive the first flame wheel but not a second. If the glitch is active, in this situation, I can't tell if it is. I can't see the glitched damage and I am killing at the same speed I would normally. This is in no way abusing the glitch but you believe it should still warrant a ban.

So then any and everyone who used decent skills without the decent skill potential on their gear should be banned too, right? The Wild Hunters should be banned as well. Anyone who's trained at a boosted LHC map should also be banned.
