"40 players banned for hacking"
iamflip Wrote:Need to see (in)famous names on those ban lists for any real difference to be made.

Just saying.

I agree with this statement so much. There is so much proof in videos all over YouTube; they might as well ban them and use the vids as proof. Tongue

In Galicia, I presume? Haha, that's great.

So it took me six channels at Garden of Yellow 1 this morning before I found one that wasn't being map-vacced by an Evan with a junk name, which caused me to wonder...

When did they change the reporting system to only allow one per day? What starry-eyed optimist at Nexon decided that would be enough? Glitter

I'm OK with it costing mesos (yeah, whatever) but we really need more than one.

[semi-on-topic] I like seeing cutesy announcements (how about "42 hackers have become Death Teddy stuffing"?) but they shouldn't bother announcing that they banned a bunch of ad-bots. Rolleyes

When they just say "permanently banned" it means for ad spamming.
At least that's what I observed today in MYCK. When they said "permanently banned" with no reason (and there were several of those), none of the names could be found on rankings.
But the one time I saw a "banned for hacking", those were eleven level ~100 Evans. So the GM went to one map and banned all channels. That's about the extent of effort they go to. But hey, it's better than doing their quota in FM entrance.

And is that not such a good thing?
They used to just let the mesos flow through the market(and every map would be controlled by hackers). I think they put a lot better effort than they used to.

It's good that they're doing something, but it's bad that they're wasting their time banning spambots (which would be replaced in a matter of minutes, if not seconds), while there are so many hackers and botters to nail.

All GM bans are permanent.

...or "permenent" as this one likes to say.

The last couple nights (I'm talking midnight EST and even 3am EST on Friday/Saturday) a GM has been online banning ad spammers. The trouble is, they don't ban actual hackers (LHC and stronghold were still both full of hackers). A GM even went to the trouble of doing an image-smega at 3am EST, which is kind of ridiculous. GM night shift?

image smega? what is that? o.o those which show you up in the corner?

Yeah I forgot what they're called :X they're the ones GMs always use so you can see the GM hat.

It makes me wonder if there are other GMs with buggy names, with respect to having Scarab as a GM. I can enjoy a bit of schadenfreude if we get a buggy GM being a pest to the script kiddies and malicious hackers around the game.

Just going to leave this here.
