Any 4th job Warriors getting Stance?

GMSInfighter Wrote:FelixTM. All Isaac did was condemn the practice of selling it and then Felix proceeded to state his opinion.

So quit peachin.
^ That's no less true than what you actually said. Who is to define the line between stating an opinion and invading upon others'?

Goodness some people really are stupid. I guess you're too young to even grasp such a concept, eh? You honestly think those people that go and do horrible things like school shootings did it because they wanted to live their shooting game in real life? Haha, wow. It takes a seriously screwed up person, who has lived a life of intense mental stress to reach that point. The game didn't cause it. AT MOST, the game gave them an idea how to vent their messed up state. The game didn't make them that way. The game didn't make them do it.

Next time, before saying such pathetically stupid things to me, YOU need to realize things aren't always so simply black and white. And by the way, why don't you go back to kissing up to Isaac and your ways of "honor"?

FYI, there's a thing called refuting and expressing my own opinions, as well.

First of all, I'm not kissing up to Isaac, I'm "EXPRESSING MY" opinion dumbass. I'm not saying games are making kids angry, stupid and pathetic kids are thinking it's cool to follow video game characters and do the actions they do.

Arguing and expressing opinions are two different things. Wink

Russt - Why do you have to go and switch my words around. I said Isaac stated an opinion and Felix argued against it. Sure they both argued with their opinions but it was none of Felix's business to come in and argue, Isaac kind of had the right too since it's his thread and his topic >_>

Dohoho, hurtful words.

Yep, all the shootings reported on the news (since you made sure to mention the news) are the result of kids bringing their video game fantasies to life. How dense can you be? But my goodness, that's not even what's going on in this thread. If you wanna debate that matter, let's take it somewhere else.

Please stop insulting Isaac, Kyle. It seems a bit silly on your part, but arguing never looks good for either side. This thread is meant to be asking if any warriors are going to be getting stance, fore Isaac needs to NPQ. You can make your point without Insulting each other, and I know you two can do that.

All is a very big word to use, seeing as how I never referred to ALL of them being reports of children doing these actions because of video game violence. I have no need to argue against you anymore to be honest, I just wanted to express my little opinion in your little argument.

Bye bye for now.

And this is a forum. If I start a thread, and in it I say McDonald's sucks, does that mean it's intruding for someone else to butt in and defend fast food? According to your logic, it should be "none of their business".

Go go one-sided favoritism, as usual. I jumped into this thread because Isaac has been unfair to that guy that first posted since the beginning. Then he was outright rude to him. Isaac's made his high-horse opinion very clear and let it seep into his moderation, which was apparent from the reason he used to close that guy's topic.

But it's terrible to stick up for that guy and express my opinion, so please forgive me!

GMSInfighter, seriously get a clue what's even going on or just quit.

But this isn't a "Scamming sucks, merchanting sucks, selling helms sucks, it's sucks" thread.

So, unless Felix wanted to argue and say "Asking random warriors for this PQ sucks!" then he shouldn't have posted. He argued against a post remember, not the thread.

Any further arguments towards me, can be PMed.

I'll concede one thing, and that is that this argument is spamming up Isaac's thread and should at the very least be split somewhere else if not deleted.

No no, please, express your opinion. Forgive me, I'm a bit tired, but it just seems to me that your posts are a bit mean (for lack of a better word). Not saying Isaac was not rude to you, just that I thought you were being overly mean.

You just said it's terrible to stick up for someone, clearly being sarcastic, but when i defend Isaac, I'm favoring him? I don't get it, I'm NOT calling you out on this, just... Kyle, I don't like to see you angry like this. It's just not how you usually act...

I agree that Isaac was too hastily in closing that guy's selling thread, however I don't think you're delivering that message politely.

IsaacGS Wrote:The fact that someone is willing to do it in a game means they have the capacity to do it in the real world, and they will eventually if they aren't told it's wrong.

Not necessarily true. The beauty of the internet is that everyone who uses it has a wonderful shield in front of them, the monitor. Just because a person does something in a game, doesn't necessarily dictate how they're gonna act in life. It's why cyberbullying and cybersex is so "popular". Anyone can just open up an instant messaging window and say "hey babe, wanna cyber?" and there ARE people who do that AND people who agree to go along with it. However, you don't see many people on the street walking up to each other and asking for sex unless you wanna count prostitution.

People who are scamming, lying or cheating do need to be told that it's wrong and discouraged. However unless they're doing those things, I don't see them doing something that is "wrong" by offering a service in this day and age.

I find this ironic because you don't even really know me. When I have an opinion and a reason to jump in, I have great fun in arguing with others. Discussions like that are the best.

Just like any site, obvious cliques form. It's not like others don't notice who is always clinging together. That point wasn't so much at you, though, as it was generally throwing it out there. You honestly think Isaac made the most fair and respectable decision when he was rude to and closed that guy's topic simply because it clashed with his views? Come on.

@ butterfli

Yeah, I'm not. I get fed up with things like this, so I'd rather attack it.

Isaac, I know of one person who could help you on your quest to get DB, but she doesn't get on very often. I also know of others who are very close to 4th job. Whether it's in their disposition to lvl up at all or if they'll help you is a different matter. Contact me in-game if you still haven't gotten DB yet. (I'm not on during most of Thanksgiving break)

IsaacGS Wrote:Of course I'm being drastic. No MMO's economy is supposed to be based around services. That's not what they're for. They're all about the production of goods. The fact that pretty much the main two ways to make money in Maple, now, are prostitution (Leeching) and scamming (Merchanting) proves there's something wrong. Maple's economy is now too dependent on these things. pineapple, every single one of these so-called "Services" directly undermines the game's purpose. Don't wanna level up? Buy some leech! Don't like your equips? Buy a slot in a Zakum run! Don't have the skills you need? Not to worry, some profiteer will come by soon enough and offer you a way to get it, for a nominal fee of course.

It's entirely down to game design... if these things are possible, people will pay for them. Zakum Helmets are available 50-60 levels before you can hunt one yourself... why not buy it? Horntail Pendants are available 30-40 levels before you could get one... why not buy it? They're still useful at the minimum level, there's just no way to get them yourself. And leeching is just a result of an insane leveling curve. When a level 80 gets 8 times more % per kill than a level 120, 35 times more than a level 150 the result is that if a level 120 can kill 2.5 times as fast as a level 80, the level 80 gets a higher exp rate. If the level 120 (as in the case of Mages) can get the same exp rate as the level 80, leeching is suddenly 3-4 times better than regular training.

Not that I have time right now to go through all this, but I'm going to make some basic responses.

1. That thread's closing was in direct violation of the rules at the time. There was to be NO selling of items, with the exception of the Zhelm/pendants in their respective section, and that was against the rules. I may have been the one to execute it but it was not my decision alone. Way to bring up evidence without context. It's not like I went through this thread and gave out infractions to everyone who disagreed with me.
2. I don't really care if it was rude. It's clear by now that I greatly disapprove of this behavior. If someone doesn't smack them they'll never regain their senses. If I were buying a slot to get Dragon Breath, I'd have put it in the Buying forum, thanks.

If you can't hold up your morals in a pseudo-anonymous or purely anonymous environment then you never really had them at all. It was all just an act to be socially acceptable. You can't go and treat things differently just because no one will know it's you.

The amount of pointless ad hominems in this thread is making my brain hurt. The way you guys are going about things, you're not going to convince anyone.

Good luck finding the skill, Isaac. I'll eventually be making a similar thread when I get to 120 Rolleyes

Argue all you want; do it without belittling each other. Thank you.

Since I've met someone who's willing to take me I'm just going to go ahead and close this.
