Well, yeah. He was dealing with 2 no-name quincies. The only possible problem is that the shingami handed 4 bankais over to them which they can now use to zerg rush kenpachi with.

However, there is no way the quincies stormed soul society and didn't have a plan to deal with Kenpachi. Whether that plan involved the shinigamis being retards and handing the weapons to beat kenpachi to the enemy is yet to be seen.

Welp. I stand corrected.

Well Kenpachi isn't very fast, so if the Quincy use that powerup of theirs to deal massive damage (while sacrificing their defensive capabilities), they should be able to avoid most of his attacks while being extremely strong themselves. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The only reason to throw Kenpachi against the leader of the raid and main antagonist is if they wanna kill him off too, all more obvious after they just killed the second main face face of the Gotei13 captains right before him coming out.

Kubo has no idea what to do with his manga. he just killed one of the most important characters of his series in the lamest way possible. I don't know about you but I think Byakuya is the equivalent of Kakashi to Bleach (and Kenpachi = Jiraiya??). Kubo thinks killing everyone off the fastest he can will drag everybody's attention and get him the lost populatiry the series had.

All more now I can see Aizen breaking free and making a truce with Ichigo to fight the Quincies, then taking over the main enemy role.

I mean we have these shinigami facing terrible odds and in the case of Byakuya, he just had his really 'op bankai stolen and used against him. Idk what way you wanted him to die, but in a war, people need to actually die, not like in Naruto, where nobody ever dies/stays dead. If the story is coming to a close and this is the last arc, why shouldn't some good guys die during the final battle(s)? Kenpachi was always looking to fight the strongest characters, so it makes sense that he sought out the King o' Quincys.

I think killing HIM was a bad idea, he has too much pull in the main story. He's rukia's brother, and ichigo's first genuine rival. Kenpachi is most likely going to die as well, because those two are considered the most OP in the gotei.

The problem isn't diying, but how he died. Let's look at other characters death's in Bleach. Tousen died after a hard fight against that Fox Captain, Ichimaru died in the hands of Matsumoto after nearly killing Aizen, Ulquirroa died before almost turning good.. or something, while Byakuya got obliterated in like 2 chapters (dragged out) while being a more important character than the mentioned previously. He should have taken that girl out with him, or cut one of her whole arms, or something.

True, some awesome shunpo would have been appropriate.

Yes, yes, yes. I don't understand. I get it, his power was fear or some nonsense. But the fact that Byakuya just friggin stood there and got shredded to pieces without even flash stepping once...ugh. Maybe the anime will make it better? :[

In a war there isn't time for everyone to die heroically, nor is it very realistic. I understand it isn't the greatest thing for the Byakuya fans among us, but it is a lot more realistic to see some powerful characters die quickly for once too. I also found it a nice touch that someone as headstrong as Byakuya was overwhelmed by primal fear itself. I've seen enough of Byakuya myself at least and look forward to the shinigami who haven't shown what they can do like Yachiru or Unohana. Also As Nodt's fear ability kind of accounts for why Byakuya didn't pull a last ditch Kidou or Shunpou move. Finally it isn't even certain that he's dead yet. We've seen worse wounds then this, where people have survived.

Aizen. Remember Aizen

The worst one I can think of was when Hiyori was bisected at the stomach and survived. If you can survive missing half your body including where several organs should have been (lol like shinigami have organs, tehy've seemingly all been replaced with 50 gallons of blood each) for at LEAST several hours, that should make it definitively obvious that bleach doesn't have a "looked pretty dead" state that you can use as a serious justification.

Aizen is in his own tier of "wtfthatscrazy" with Ichigo.

Not that I'm trying to debate your point, but Hiyori stayed alive because that guy with Orihime-like powers was helping her.

The fight against Aizen was pretty close to this (although it was the Shinimagi attacking that time), a handlul of Shinigami beating the whole Arrancar forces, and even the bad guys had chance for some decent fights and deaths. I get what you say and consider it can be true, for example Kiba, but come on, Byakuya was among the 10 most important characters in Bleach, he should have died at least as Kakashi died against Pain, finding a clue to the Quincy abilities.

Regarding Unohara, I wouldn't expect much from her being the head of the medical squad. Watch her Bankai be able to resurrect people.

No way man, I bet she is very powerful. Everyone in the Gotei 13 highly respects her, including Yamamoto. There are several captains' bankais (+ urahara's) that I cannot wait to see.

There is no argument against the awesome boss-ness that is Kenpachi. None. Nope. Shaddap.
