#1
I'm getting an error while patching:
 opening error message
does anyone have this file or know how I can fix this without completely re-downloading?

Thank you

I had a similar issue earlier, but it was dealing with the phantom.avi file. I remember a few days ago I removed that file because people said you can do that to skip opening when starting up maple (didn't work btw, dunno if I did it wrong). Luckily I made a backup of that file so I just threw that file back into the maple folder. Afterwards the patch started and everything went smoothly. I guess patcher hates people who like to mess around in the folder. Rolleyes

It worked for me. Just cut all the .avi files out of the MapleStory folder.

I have this same issue, but mine's with phantom.avi, and it says that it can't be opened because it's being used by another process. But I can't think of any issues, and I have the file tucked away in the Maple folder... Welp. Why did they even have to add these horrible animations in the first place. Tongue

Well the files you sent me did not work. It now says the file is corrupted. I guess I will leave my laptop downloading all day. Sad

I'm sorry. I don't know what else to suggest to you than the generic "redownload Maple and hope it fixes itself" fix.

Oh poop.. I knew I should have backed up last versions avi files. Check your recycle bin, they might still be in there, like mine were.

I did end up re-installing, which of course worked. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
