Cannot patch

I'm getting an error while patching:

 opening error message

does anyone have this file or know how I can fix this without completely re-downloading?

I had a similar issue earlier, but it was dealing with the phantom.avi file. I remember a few days ago I removed that file because people said you can do that to skip opening when starting up maple (didn't work btw, dunno if I did it wrong). Luckily I made a backup of that file so I just threw that file back into the maple folder. Afterwards the patch started and everything went smoothly. I guess patcher hates people who like to mess around in the folder.

It worked for me. Just cut all the .avi files out of the MapleStory folder.

I have this same issue, but mine's with phantom.avi, and it says that it can't be opened because it's being used by another process. But I can't think of any issues, and I have the file tucked away in the Maple folder... Welp. Why did they even have to add these horrible animations in the first place.

I'm sorry. I don't know what else to suggest to you than the generic "redownload Maple and hope it fixes itself" fix.

Oh poop.. I knew I should have backed up last versions avi files. Check your recycle bin, they might still be in there, like mine were.

I did end up re-installing, which of course worked. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
