Your lack of commas is really making it hard to understand you.
I'll rephrase what I'm talking about since you don't seem to understand it. I wish people would enjoy the game and not get caught up in all the drama. An exploit that causes you to get hacked is something to talk about. The fact that house69bunny trained on a glitched LHC map is a waste of discussion/time (in my opinion).

I understood you, That still dose not change anything. People are constantly saying that they are legit or, that guy isn't or, buying a duped scroll doesn't make you ilegit. All of your so called drama stems from that so, I'll ask again, what's wrong with trying to come up with a definition for this community created grey area.

Like Dark Link; said, it's all opinionated. People will argue for months back and forth over it. I find that stupid and a waste of time and I believe people should try to not care about it.
Even if a definition comes forth, it'll have to be changed again when new non-legit things surface.

They should care because that mentality encourages people to push that envelope. Meaningless drama is one thing, but it's that exact mentallity that made such an outbreak today. Such as individuals buying incredibly illegitimate equipment. It may not directly affect my character, my progress, but it does affect the market, and any means of money making besides participating in the exploits or buying it via nx.
This argument has always annoyed me because it's that same childish excuse people use for jealousy. It isn't jealousy and such acts does indirectly affect all other players who play.

It's all opinionated. But the obvious catch is, this thread is based on what my personal opinion of what legitness is. It's explained quite clearly in the first post.
And to the guy who said the topic sucks: why did you post then? I guess it's because the thread disagreed with you and the only retort you can come up with is immature trolling.

The poll lacks a "I don't care either way. I just play for fun, and only do things everyone can within a reasonable limit."
I remember people flipping over the "amoria PQ glitch" Where people left the party and kicked everyone inside making them wait another 6 hours... Because they skipeed a stage that took like 2 minutes or less to finish. That's stupid.
Have you ever "chair jumped"? I mean, pressing a chair key while pressing the jump key? Yeah, that's not intended to happen. If you ever did it, you are illegit.

OP posted a pretty long list of what they considered "(il)legitimate", but I think "intentional" and "gains profit or in-game benefit" together cover most if not all of 'em.

Well, others in this thread have defined it as "anything against the ToS". Including chair-jumping, cursing, and asking people for their real name.
One could also argue that "chair jumping" gives you a benefit of admiration or something.
What benefit does hacking for an unreleased hairstyle give the player? Yet people were banned for it.

Not benefit but the fact that it is unfair is grounds enough to ban for it. Is chair-jumping unfair? No, because everyone can do it, and do it easily, and without the use of 3rd party programs.
Comparing chair-jumping to hacking is like comparing jaywalking to drug trafficking.

Hairstyles are an in-game benefit. CF: hair coupons, quests that change hair, etc. The involvement of legal tender in the hairstyle system is enough to make me leery of any exploits dealing with it, let alone active hacks -- though on a personal level, Nexon's failure to keep the Cash Shop almost or entirely aesthetic-only rather dulls any discomfort I might have with hypothetical hairstyle glitches that are universally exploitable.

I love it how people pick on the stupidity of chair jumping and ignore skipping an easy stage by glitching.
Is saving 30 seconds against the ToS?
What about the glitch to enter Pink Zakum more than 3 times in some worlds? Are they illegit? Because it allowed you to enter more times than the specified 3 per day.
What about when world tour wouldn't fight back? I bet you wouldn't have to do CWKPQ, Grandpa, or anything like that for the whole time it was on, right? Because it was a glitch. That got fixed. That granted a huge advantage.
Using a third party program is a whole other story, but things that are for grabs for everyone that won't ruin anyone else's gameplay? I'm not going to care about that.
And I consider ruining other people's gameplay ruining the economy too, for example, yes.

I've never used duped items and have never hacked/used hackers. I have never used a glitch (At least intentionally) and I have bought NX, but only when I went through my henehoe stage. D:

By definition, it's a glitch, it's against the TOS. Is it so problematic that it pisses the entire community off? No. The point of these people, including myself, is in order to have any opinion of legitimacy you have to define both the term "legitimate" and what molds the rules in the game. Hackers specifically use it as an excuse to justify what they do, extremes don't exist it's just yes or no to them.
So in a conserative view set, you're illegitimate, if you do anything of that sort. Does that mean you're a bad player? A problem? Not necessarily, and I'm not going to go around going "Alley is a hacker because he entered pink zak 3 times!!!", it's petty. But it's either you define it logically or fight over who's opinion makes more sense. Both are a bother really.

But yeah. I think it's something someone should think for themselves, I agree on everything.
Except people mistaking me for @Alley. My now ARCHNEMESIS.

1) Didn't touch any duped item and never will
2) Didn't train in a glitched map
3) Try to avoid train with people who look like they are wearing duped item as much as possible
4) Most skill/mastery books used are my drop or in run that I participated (except one that is given by a friend)
5) Only use equipments that are made/scrolled by myself
6) Never buy scrolls that seems like duped/botted (BTW I only bought like 5~10 pot scrolls in my entire maple life so far)
7) I did glitch APQ first stage
8) I did jump shoot but never chair jump (simply not bother)
9) I did buy NX code with mesos and buy MTS NX with cash from other player
Honestly, I feel disgusted when I see people talk about/show off their godly damage or even video'd it. When I look at their gears.... I think, "No wonder".
Like whoever said before, legit or not is just a personal opinion. In my opinion, if you know your gear is duped or know that the scrolls you used are duped/exploited/botted, I will consider you as illegit.

Amen. It irks me when people say it's "legit" when they knowingly use duped/exploited items/scrolls/whatever on a regular basis. However, I can't blame some people for doing it due to the competitive nature of the game and needing to 'adapt or die'. I don't think the non-dupe user is better or whatnot than a dupe-user (although I admire/respect the non-dupe user more). But still, to say they are both equally legit or equally illegit is nonsense.

I would go as far as to say that the only 'sides' to this would be whether or not someone hacks in the game. To say that anyone who has remotely come in contact with an illegitimate player becomes illegitimate themselves, this is a primitive way of thinking that servers like Bellocan have held on to for far too long.
Have you ever sold anything in the Free Market? Well, chances are you are holding 'illegitimate' mesos now. More than likely, somewhere along the line, some of those mesos were achieved from hacking, looting from something that was hacked, or transactions involving a hacker.
What do you gain from handicapping yourselves for the sake of legitimacy? Oh wait, if you've ever traded with anyone, chances are you're already not legitimate. Well, this is an intentional handicap without much of a purpose, now isn't it?

You're comparing tainted mesos, which are nearly impossible to distinguish, to tainted items which are usually easily possible to distinguish.

Well, this is an intentional handicap without much of a purpose, now isn't it? See above. And what non-cheaters are doing is not handicapping themselves but rather trying to fix things wrong with the game in whatever way they can. It is the cheaters and the apathetic who are handicapping themselves, everyone else, and the game by not worrying about what is 'legit' and what isn't.
Once again, old cliche of trying to put everyone into the same illegit boat is old and easily disproven and unjustified.
