Sengoku Era Information! [JapanMS]
Polantaris Wrote:Honestly I completely agree with what you are saying myself.

My only thought is that it might have to do with money. JMS may not be as popular as it used to be, but it still net them a ton of cash, way more than GMS did if I remember that annual report correctly. Granted, they dug their own grave with allowing hackers to flourish so long, but it doesn't change the fact that at this point, they simply do not make enough money...and if you were a businessman, which would you greenlight? The Exclusive Content for a version that's still netting them plenty of cash, or one that appears to be dying compared to what they (probably) used to make off of? Why would they invest the time and energy when it doesn't seem like the reward would be worth in when speaking in terms of cold hard cash.

More money? o_O I mean, Nexon basically makes every single form of new content NX related nowadays anyway, why not just invest a little bit more time an effort and attract the older players and new players all at once? That's what JMS' thing does. And if the popular version gets it too, who's to say that they wouldn't make as much money? If anything, they'd probably make MORE money by giving the popular version better content just by the default of having more players who want to buy NX items. I suppose it is Nexon's business model to spread out their NX collection rather than concentrate it. Then that must mean that JMS makes them just enough money that they can't drop it. Still sad that we can't even get a single shred of awesome content. All we're doing (and have been doing) is following KMS updates with nothing that would pique an old player's interest beyond "I need this to make my main character stronger".

The problem is that the numbers have shown that not nearly as many people are buying NX in GMS as they are in JMS. How many people did they really bring back when they released nebulites, Jett, and the Masteria revamp? Masteria's revamp seems to have angered more people than it roped in.

Not only that, how many people actually bought NX items? Why would they? Duping might have been stopped, but even if it's forever, it doesn't change the irreparable damage it did to the game as a whole. They're never going to be able to hunt down all the glitched gear, and with glitched gear, you get people buying items from other players instead of buying NX for cubes.

Even if every duped item is sold for 50kNX, it doesn't remotely cash in as much as the 5,000+ cubes it took to make that item the first time. There's so many ill-gotten items in GMS that even if they brought in a million new players, it wouldn't matter, because they don't need to ever buy NX except for a Pet, and NX Clothes, if they even want that stuff. Not everyone does, and even if everyone did...still doesn't net nearly as much as if everyone was buying cubes for their gear, which they aren't, because they don't need to. GMS simply does not make as much money as other versions, and nothing can fix it at this point. Nothing.

So why would Nexon invest money into making a huge set of exclusive content for GMS, when they can do it for JMS, get tons of people back, AND get them actually buying NX because there's no duped gear in JMS?

-Kanna will fight alongside her fox companion.
-Instead of MP, Kanna will use Spiritual Power to attack.
-She will use Chakra to recover her Spiritual Power instead of MP potions.
-As it stands, Magicians are a pretty unpopular class, since they're weak at bosses, so due to disgruntled opinions from players, they've decided to make Kanna a more boss-oriented class.
-Some of Kanna's attacks include :
紫扇白狐 (Purple Fan, White Fox)
鬼人召喚 (Summon Demons)
狛狛桜 (KomaKoma Sakura)
妖絵巻 (Picture Scroll of Calamity)
退魔流星符 (Expel Demon Falling Star Charm)
反射符 (Reflection Charm)

Evans/Archmages are considered weak in JMS? O.o

Evans aren't, but Archmages are awful at bosses. At least my I/L is. Especially with Zakum's Arms....Chain Lightning does not agree with them at all.

Evans don't count anyway, being the most powerful class in the game right now (last I checked, at least, Mikhail or Luminous might have taken that at this point).

Really? Archmages should have greatly improved in bossing from the past updates.

Chain Lightning does more single target than Blaze at the same weapon speed and it should do more on three targets regardless, and has more hits per second. Evan scales better with defense ignore though.

LOL! Why are the characters named after food?! XD

o.o They are? Those are actual names of people from Japanese history. Shingen Takeda (the guy with red hair covering 99% of his head), Yukimura Sanada (the guy to the left of Shingen), Motomori Mouri (the guy to the right of Shingen), and Haruaki Tsuchimikado, the um.. female on the far right. The two on the top are, I guess, representatives of their families, which I think is where you get those specific missions mentioned in the OnlineGamer interview.

Edit : OH! You mean the Nexon staff's characters... I didn't even notice that. Lmao

Probably a Jett/Dragon Warrior...considering our surrounding's history with sea pirates. Rolleyes

Worthyness Wrote:Well sure I'll give you that, but why should JMS and KMS devs be the only ones who can work together efficiently? With how interconnected the globe is, I don't see any reason why Global devs and Korean devs could not push to get something on a similar scale to the JMS content. I mean JMS has put out many unique concepts like the Monster tamer profession and monster card summons (granted those were a redo of an old concept). This time, they not only have a MS original concept (many japanese games use the warring states story so not entirely original, but new to MS), they also have what appears to be actual new classes (as in they don't look to resemble or directly copy any existing class' attacks like Jett and Dragon Warrior accomplished so well). Why couldn't Korean devs and Global devs create something like that? GMS is Global and has many different countries tied into it- why not develop something that appeals to that "global" audience instead of a reskinned pirate job? They could have actually made Planet Cerebus for Jett; made original animations and attacks instead of "lol this already exists. Let's copy it and re-skin everything cause it's easy and appeases people". Yes, it probably would have taken a little while longer, but it would have been a far more interesting piece of content over a rushed re-skin job. Hell, it could have brought more excitement.

Sure Global devs and Korean devs can't exactly hope over a lake to get to a meeting, but that's why we have the internet- we have the capability to have real-time meetings face to face via skype; we can send messages instantly with pictures and content. They have no legitimate reason for not being able to communicate between dev teams. The only legitimate reason that I can see that we would not obtain content similar to this is if the Korean dev teams did not approve anything of this scale (which I don't see why they wouldn't for any good reason at all) or the Global dev team is completely mindless and lacks an significant amount of imagination. Maybe GMS is just not worth the time and effort. I want "exclusive" global content as much as any other GMS user, but getting something that's half ass-ed and lacks any sort of unique concept? I'd rather wait longer for something more thought out and clever. You remember how awesome Masteria was when they released it? I want that feeling again. When i saw Jett, all I thought of was "oh. it's a reskin of something that had already been developed. Nothing to see here folks. By the way, where's my Pirate revamp that we were all looking forward to?"

I might be mistaken, but I don't think the gMS team is, well, much of a team that's why. We most likely do not have anywhere near the resources jMS does, and no, I don't mean money-wise as that isn't the issue, or at least shouldn't be for us. I mean team-wise and such; we just don't have it.

I agree with you that I wish Jett was something more, but unfortunately it just isn't. I enjoy it though, even though it's a re-skin of a re-skin.

I only mentioned Asbel because his A->B Arte transition attack is called Issen in the Japanese version. Which is the same as the Hayato skill Shikage translated as "Flash".

I spent the day translating the entire interview, if anyone is interested in reading it. I don't know if it's 100% accurate. I winged it on a lot of parts, but I'm pretty sure I got the main parts down pretty good. It's too long to care about posting here, so you can go here to read the full thing : http://japanms.wordpress.com/2012/07/10/...ranslated/
