Diablo3 class thread
JoeTang Wrote:Yes, this is on a Monk. I don't have enough LoH to tank through the gas, and I can only bring him down to ~25% with kiting before he enrages. I can't get a weapon upgrade since I don't have enough money to buy one with good LoH, but I'm looking at getting more DEX gear since mine is abysmal apparently.

if you just want it cleared, im able to duo with a tank

(duoed with a monk buddy... 30k hp / 950 resists / 15k dps. took us a couple tries to figure out skills)

Did they address the fact that the change for "high-end" items to come out with decent or higher stats is horrendous?

yes, by changing the drop rates.
it was always horrible, and the reason we found more stuff that was decent++ is because SO much ilvl61+ loot was dropping that it almost didnt matter that 7/8 of the stuff we found was salvage material. because it was almost all 61-63.

game was a gear check before being a loot grind. can you kill the mobs? yes? you get great loot. no? go back an act and pray you get a ridiculously godly drop or 5 really quickly so you can have a chance at killing later mobs.

now its primarily a loot grind. keep killing pomegranate till you can farm later mobs, cuz it all drops everything you need.

It's stupid. Before the patch I would collect adequate lvl 63 gear in the higher acts. After it, it's lolfarming ACT 1 again because the drops there had consistently better stats than those in ACT 3/4.

surprise, you passed the insane gear check with a cheesy build and got phat lootz while they still dropped...
i did too so im not complaining, but dude. get over it...

edit: i did a run a bit earlier and was getting 13-16 exquisite essence per full inventory instead of like 5-10 like i was before the hotfix
sure not all of those were 63, but the drops are much better. only vendored 2-6 items each time, instead of a good 10+ < 60 yellows.
and this was only picking up 61+ blues, ignoring lesser garbage

I haven't really played much recently. Fitness has taken over my life so I just casually check the forums for any updates. Haven't finished my Wizard yet and he was pretty fun to play.

How the hell do people figure these out!?

People will do ANYTHING to try and find an exploit to get ahead. Some people would rather spend 4 hours doing whacky pomegranate like that than actually farming.

Lol I was doing that for a couple of days. When you cast TP it interrupts your attack animation so you attack again which cancels TP and tada... twice the atk speed. It's not really super effective or anything 'cause your client tends to desync and you rubber band.

Started a hardcore witch doctor and cleared normal. Progressing carefully....

I'm planning on changing my wand, (I use a 1h wand so I can use a shield offhand), and I was wondering if the % damage it has on it is incorporated into the attacks per second number on the item.
Like if I went from a 800 wand with 40% damage to a 800 wand without it, would I be losing out on dps?

Sounds like what you want to pay attention to is the small numbers under the DPS: xxx - xxx range. Those numbers mean damage per hit. The DPS is avg dmg per hit times attacks per second, essentially. If you use skills that dont require IAS (or where IAS doesnt really help), then you want the highest base damage possible.

Broke 50m gold for the first time today.

Quit 3 weeks ago.
Became pointless.
Farming was boring.
Too much dependency on RMAH.
anyway, my thoughts were already vented on the general forums, became a highly rated thread for a week until Kripp Tipps came out.
Maplestory is the only mmorpg I play now. Still one of the bests.
Once Dungeon Striker comes out, or Lineage ARPG, im totally gonna immerse myself in those.

gratz.

i had been trading all my gold for good items for long term safety. Gold value decreases like crazy...

i also bought these pants recently for dirt cheap with no gems, invest 4m on gems and current bid is 73m with 20min left.

I might myself soon. Been playing since mid June, but Inferno is ass. Way too much dependency on gear instead of skill, it's even worse than MapleStory.
