I can't believe how satisfying it is to watch a Gainax-endowed Saiyan beat the unholy pomegranate out of a little brat. I could watch that all day. Having spoiled things for myself on wikipedia, I look forward to quite a bit more of this.

Anything with a girl on the cover I'm probably watching. It's a rather bad chart this season since it doesn't list voice actors or any other staff for that matter, only studio. Disappointed that SHAFT isn't pitching in this season (or last season for that matter). Outside of redoing their BluRays (and rolling in the dough), I think their only current public projects are Madoka 1 & 2, Kizumonogatari which doesn't even have a release date, and Hidamari 4 which is two seasons away.


With this season wrapping up, I think my favourite Spring shows were Saki: Achiga-hen, Hyouka, Nyarlko, and Kore wa Zombie Desu ka OF THE DEAD.

Natsuiro Kiseki is pretty good, but my god the production value had its head chopped off. It still has an amazing cast, but the animation quality is one of the lowest this season, I think only beaten by Medaka Box.

I think Medaka Box suffered from too poor production value. Everything was very blurry, fuzzy, derpy at times, and even the voice acting lacked. Not to mention they covered a pace of less than 2 chapters an episode, including a lot of filler frames and scenes with just dead space in it. Might have worked better as an OVA set, a better planned out 24+ season to fit more story, or a shorter season to condense the earlier episodes. I'd recommend the manga to any fans of the anime, it's much better. Can probably finish the first season worth of story in an episode or two of time too.

Accel World had a really strong start, but dipped down quite a bit in my opinion. The pacing of the story shows little progress, it feels really slow.

Jormungand doesn't really feel like it's about anything other than shooting people. Not sure what the second season would explore, but I hope they add a stronger story point in the next few episodes. That being said, the show has grown on me since they have such amazing gun fights.

AKB0048 always makes me wonder how something like this (AKB48 and whatever sister groups it has) can even exist. I think the story is getting to a really strong point, and I have some hopes of something super grim-dark, but at the same time, I expect something super fluffy ending. Voice acting isn't the best in this show, sometimes grates on me, but the animation is pretty good, and their use of 3D is very interesting.

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia I'm on the fence about. Not a big fan of Yuuko's voice actor. Story was portrayed really well, but what appears to be an anime-original ending vs the ongoing manga has me conflicted. It was really interesting, and I liked how they played episode 10 and 11 out (and that ending cliffhanger), but at the same time I'm wondering how the manga will play out and if it will be different.

Shining Hearts: Shiawase no pan's only attraction for me is Tony's amazing character designs, and the constant wonderment of what this show is supposed to be about, if it isn't about baking bread. I think it's a pretty good what feels to be slice-of-life thus far, since it's obviously not Action, as MAL indicates, and the only fantasy elements have not actually been explored. Xiao Mei has a tail. Kaguya has a glowy necklace. The dwarf guy has an android. There's a giant warship in the sea somewhere. But honestly, how much of this relates to what has happened at all? Also, releases are terribly slow.

Man, what a remarkable lack of interesting things to watch this summer. Only Sword Art Online and Aruvu Rezuru jump at me.

AKB0048: Holy pineapple, I thought Takamina was going to actually die.. *moments later* ....

Something Something Amnesia: The Whole Show.
Sometimes, I confuse myself by not dropping decidedly mediocre shows. Such as this one. Although the skyscapes were pretty awesome.

The season's ending already...

Kore wa Zombie desu ka? OF THE DEAD: Awesome show. I didn't even remember the first season being this awesome. It may not be THE show of the season, but it's on top.

Upotte!!: It was fun. Awesome quality for a web anime.

Medaka Box: The quality was really lacking, but I loved this show. Last episode showed a teaser on the possibility of a second season, but it seems like it's not doing so well.

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: It was pretty fun. Best OP of the season for sure.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san: Another great show. This season was pretty good for comedies. Seems like it's the show on top for sales this season, so I expect and hope for a second season.

Zetman: Way too cheesy on some parts. You could say it's "so bad it's good". Kouga's expressions during the last episodes were pure gold.


Looking forward to Yuru Yuri 2, Horizon 2, Lagrange 2, Joshiraku, and SAO.
And I guess I'll give the rest a try like always.

They managed to stick a good "circle of violence" deal into the episode. I thought that was a good touch.

I assumed Valmet was wearing a vest since only one bullet drew blood and it hit her shoulder, but the other woman got two in the heart(?) from Jonah so... I don't really understand. inb4 this is antiamerican propaganda in season 2. Also, I WANT MORE ASSASSIN ASUMI KANA LILIANE HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGG

Derpiro Kiseki 11: After a week break, there's less derp around. Thank God it's only one episode left or we'd be treated to another Endless Eight fiasco.

Kitamura Eri's voice is pineappleing amazing.

Hyouka 10: DAMN, NOW WHATCHA GONNA DO SON. I was expecting the writer to show up eventually and say it's good, but not what she had planned. I'm expecting the intention was for someone to be hanged, which fits the over-stressing of lack of blood required.

I can't decide between Fujiko and Tsuritama for my favorites of the seasons :<

Is this what it's like to have a good trip on shrooms or LSD? I was on/off bored but amused by the general premise and presentation... And then the robotic loaf of bread ripped itself in half and died a Tarantino-worthy blood-spurting death. So I think I'll be back for a few more episodes.

Tari Tari 1: wtp is up with the CGI? I haven't actually seen Kingdom, but it also uses this weird CGI at random times. It just looks really awkward. Just go back to traditional animation, Japan.

Yuru Yuri ♪♪ 1: Again, I don't remember the first season being this great. Loved the "everyone loves Akari" part and Ayano saying "AKAZA AKARI!". The animation was also great, especially that Mirakurun movie scene. Seems like the first season sold like hotcakes.
