Inkwell Diary # 17 [Prelude of Storm - Tempest]

Takebacker Well, like with GMS players... there's a huge desire for old Maple and the old ways of Maple. The more the game gets updated, it the more all of that disappears. They don't like it one bit.

Yet we complain to no end when we don't get something (i.e pirate revamp) Rolleyes

Revamps aren't always bad, they just need to actual be something good, so there is nothing wrong with wanting 5th job, just needs to be new and innovative.

5th job might be a good thing, but it depends how this "Tempest" plays out.

Perhaps Nexon will learn from from the mistakes they made in Big Bang, etc. and give us a much more entertaining game.

I don't see why anyone would be surprised by something like this.

MMO's constantly need new content and change, otherwise it would get boring too fast.

I dunno if I'll enjoy it or not, but I'll still play my bishop regardless. I've yet to find a class that I enjoy near as much.

Fifth Job is a tremendous opportunity. The job advancement itself could be a nice quest. The skills don't need to have 30 levels anymore. There doesn't need to be a lot of 5th job skills to make it interesting. They can bring back Skill Quests. They could even add new mechanics to the 5th job. I see it as a large opportunity, but even if it is "just another job level", I'll still be anxious to see it.

You see that light ahead? Yeah that bright light? That's because you're looking upward while you fall down the endless pit of dissapointment upon it's release Rolleyes

I am hoping for an entire revamp of the gameplay, which makes skill more important, or at least equal than damage, with new maps, party quests that actually take a while (like instances in other games), new bosses that aren't a skill sam fest with fake difficulty. Of course, this won't happen. It will probably be new class+5th job+endless skill revamps as usual.

I am not burdened with the problem of expectation. I enjoy media as it is presented and not as I expected. It makes life a whole lot more enjoyable. I withhold judgement until I have actually played it. No sense getting one's little panties in a twist.

The game will be changed from Maple Story to _____ Story. The blank will be filled with the newest class released or revamped.
_____ Story will also be in 3D, EXP will be cut in half, and potential will have 3 more lines for a grand total of 6.

I'm actually down for 5th job.. Though I don't really feel like training past 200. If they was to increase max level.
(or needing nx to progress)

Huh? Another Big Bang?
That's like the chances of these "Your Item Will Arrive Within 3 days"-closing screens.
And with the fact I got that, this sure is interesting.
Name won't tell anything, BigBang wasn't a space world. Hmmm
5thjob, maybe.

Oooh this is exciting. If the update is anywhere near as big as bigbang, we're gonna see a lot of changes. It might be just what the game needs in a lot of areas.

They might even re-arrange the world to make level 150-200 training spots for 5th job.

Are they making the other classes as appealing as luminous when it comes to skill animations? :I

They should also revamp the equipment/mob drops in this game.

Level 150+ monsters dropping level 70-90 gear?

In fact I would like to see a damage cap decrase so peopel ACTUALLY look for co-op while bossing instead of soloing everything...

The static damage cap is dumb and should be changed so it's based on weapon and attack speed.

I hope fifth job shows some creativity and originality with specialization for classes instead of the usual "HURR DURR LET'S GIVE LIGHT MELEE RUSH AND RANGED CLASSES MELEE ATTACKS."

Why have a cap at all?

To avoid breaking the game even further. We really don't need NLs running around hitting 5m a star.

Most people hate the mechanics of old maple all they went from those days is the community.

Touche.

I would honestly rather remove the cap and subsequently nerf the hell out of damage/health values. Screw all this "OMG LOOK BIG NUMBERS YAAAAAAY" crap.
