TF2 Thread, now featuring HALLOWEEN!

I don't know how or why, but I somehow suddenly understand how to rocket jump. Soldier just got WAY more fun now. No more walking slowly. Properly shoot rocket at feet, fly across a large gap. Now I just gotta learn how to chain rocket jump and airstrafe. Like THIS guy:

It feels good to finish a round with a Buff Banner cap.

So, there was a patch today. It added a bunch of ridiculous "useless" items, like Goldfish and Pocket Lint.

Mysterious.

I've not played TF2 for months but I may have to idle a bit to get these new items, since it says they are used for crafting on the wiki.

All the conspiracy theorists are out in force. 6/22 Meet the Pyro / Mann Vs Machine Update. We’ll see I guess.

This event is really intriguing.


The day after the items were added, Valve patched in some data that made wearing Eliminating the Impossible set cause the items to display fragments of a Sherlock Holmes quote.

The next day, they made Banana Peels "craftable", which made the game display some code, which was later revealed to produce a picture of QR codes. These codes, when translated, produced pieces of a picture of a (tran)script involving Saxton Hale.

Then they posted a Blog Post about the creation of weapons with commentary from a Community Modeler. Apparently, this new weapon is going to be involved in an upcoming update...

It's like Portal 2 all over again. Maybe we'll have to buy a bunch of indie games.

A Doomsday game mode. Sounds like it is a mix between CTF and KOTH. Deliver the fuel to the rocket then hold that point till it launches?

I stand among those who believe the gender of the pyro will never be revealed. They said something to that a while back in an interview where they roughly said that "certain things we've taken too long to answer now have their own subculture and it would be hard/wrong to actually answer them at this point".

As for my explanation; the Pyro will be a being without gender. I'm going with an elder god sort of thing. Explains a lot in my book.

Beyond that, I'm not even going to try figuring things out since they've gone all ARG again. Granted, I was reading a bit of stuff the other day and saw that Monkey right before this popped up; so I might have a slightly better understanding of things this time around.

Pyro is Poopy Joe evolved via Space radiation and traveled back in time.
