I love examples of continuity / preservation of detail like this.

I feel like that would be something the writers could do if they really waned to extend the series beyond 2 seasons. Seeing as they have had this planned out for 2 seasons, I doubt that she'll lose her bending. I do think that she will get the avatar state and Amon will GTFO and start season 2 with a vengeance.

How? Korra calls Naga "Good Girl" all the time.

He had an awesome fight scene in Episode 6 as well, when Amon takes over the Pro-Bending Arena. Him and some of his guys vs Korra + Lin, was a great fight.

Because she wasn't barefoot, really agree with people with the silly ways of that police, not using earth bending and using shoes.
But still, vibrations travel through metal too and should be able to be sensed too. Depending on the rate that vibrations travel through differnt materials, maybe even better sensing. I just find it weird that a senser gets surprised in an episode when she should have at least sensed someone was coming, while a non-senser (Tenzin) just turns around and owns the guy. I mean Toph could sense, although the view was fuzzy, through sand, but she could still sense something at least.

Uh hello, have you seen that stache Tenzin has?

Am I the only person not that bothered by the fact that they reused the voice actor? I find it strange, but I am so excited that Iroh entered the show that I can move past it. I hope he inherited his family's power and technique, while also having Uncle Iroh's sense of humor (too much to ask, I know).

A thought just occurred to me. So far we have only ever seen people lose their bending, but we have yet to hear or see a non-bender become a bender.
Just an interesting thought.

The first ever benders were non-benders who learned from moles/dragons/air bisons/the moon.

I know that the first benders were taught, but if so, what makes non-benders any different now? Wouldn't they also be able to learn bending?

I guess they just don't care/don't even know that the first benders were taught/they are dumb.

Since he's an Airbender, he could have easily been alarmed by a change in wind. The fact that it effected his mighty stache could just be an effect. Honestly, we don't know what kind of senses Airbenders have in terms of air movement, they could have skill similar to Earthbenders, but with Air.

I like the idea of Iroh, and the fact that Zuko honored his uncle with him, but to use the same voice for two major characters is stupid. When it's minor characters you can get past it, but it's a big deal with major characters. It honestly threw me out of the show for a bit, because that kind of reuse throws realism out the window. It's like when TV Shows reuse the same actor for characters. If you've watched the entire show, it throws you off and destroys realism because you KNOW that person was also someone else, who was completely unrelated. It's like they needed someone last second so they called someone random on a list of people.

There was an argument made that the ability to be able to bend is genetic; I would agree with that argument. Firstly, Aang's son Bumi is apparently a non-bender. Strange since his mother is a Waterbender and his father is an Airbender (it's noted that all Air Nomads could Airbend, however). There's also the fact that a Firebender can't become and Earthbender and so on. Sure you can learn the theory behind bending, but I imagine it requires a specific gene to actually execute bending.

For the Air Bending part: If I remember correctly, it was mentioned that you are taken away from your parents to become an Air Nomad. So by that information we can assume that they determine who is an Air Bender before making them an Air Nomad.

Hmm, I would think they took them away from their already Air Nomad parents, as in they only take people who are already in their tribe to begin with.
Anyway, did Toph learn Earthbending completely from the Badgermoles, or did she just get better at it through her interaction with them?

I think she trained with them, however it wasn't really explained much. She mentioned learning it by "seeing" them do it, and I figure she trained with them when she could.

On Airbending: "The "Avatar Extras" stated that all Air Nomads are airbenders. This would make the Nomads the only group with every individual being a bender. The creators also explain this is due to bending coming from spirituality."
On Toph: I'm sure there's all sorts of exceptions. Because Toph is blind, she has similar conditions to Badgermoles so that may have given her some sort of boost (?) to just learn it naturally. Again, Aang's family is probably the biggest "evidence" that bending is genetic since one of his children is a Waterbender, the other an Airbender, and the third a non-bender.

Oh I didn't know the Avatar Extras thing mentioned that. I tried to avoid it because it mostly gave useless information or spoiled things for people who haven't seen it all yet.
