It's one thing to see bacon as a fried piece of meat and another to see it as a component of a dish: salty, savory, crispy. In this manner, it makes sense in a sundae if only to add contrast to its sweetness and smooth texture.

Would definitely try a bacon sundae at least once.

Kunagisa Wrote:Burger King of Japan agrees with this statement. They recently held a special offer where you could add 15 strips of bacon onto your sandwich for about $1.25 extra. There was no limit to how much you could stack this.

Denny's had a Bacon Sunday last year, even though I work there I never tried it.
It looked disgusting. Bacon + Maple Syrup + Ice cream. Do not want.

And this is why In'n'Out chose to limit the hidden menu's extra patty/cheese layer to 4. As it so happens, I know a guy who's record on that was 21x21.

I think I had one of those. Not bad to be honest. And as a kid I would always have the bananas and bacon on the same plate as my toaster waffles which I coated with maple syrup. The combo of bacon maple syrup and bananas was awesome. At least to me.

On Topic: http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/bacon/ EVERYTHING exists in bacon form. Even toothpaste and soap.
Going to the county fair this weekend and hope to prove my point further than the last time I went.

Have to be careful with the composition though - the salt must be finely balanced, and you don't want the bacon fat to kill the ice cream either (might kill the texture).

On the other hand, I very rarely eat bacon. It's not very high up on my "favourite food" list.

Eh... just putting a slice of bacon inside the shake won't really change the taste that much. I thought it would be something more like having bacon sprinkles or bacon flavor which would be more legit.

Grease and sugar, what's not to like?

Seriously, though, salty and sweet go well together. Try some salty pretzels or even chips in your chocolate fondu sometime.

I'd definitely try this bacon sundae.
