If he doesn't bend why would he have his hand like that?
P.S. I just know they'll leave us with one huge cliffhanger on the finale. :S
It will probably be a bigger cliffhanger than Season 2's of the Original Series. That sh't was crazy.
Berzerk Wrote:Am I the only one that's incredibly angry that the entirety of the Korra series is basically 6 episodes longer than one season of the original series? It really burns me that they have this wonderful world and amazing characters that they choose to do nothing with. 26 episodes is not enough.
Ratings do wonders. If they're high enough, I'm positive we'll see more, or possibly another sequel...but likely more Korra simply because of how much there is to explore.

Hama was only initially stronger than Katara because Katara did not want to Bloodbend at all. She was horrified at the thought and the concept. When she finally realized that it was the only way to save herself and her friends, she did it against her better judgement. Her massive crying at the end of the episode reflects this. It's likely that it is banned in Republic City solely because of her.
Even so, Hama was only able to Bloodbend two-three people at once. Yakome is shown Bloodbending over a hundred in that flashback. That's a dramatic jump in ability. Even though you have "special benders," I think that it's too much of an ability jump. It seemed far too much. The best Water Benders can't even manage that much water, and water doesn't offer resistance like blood does (because the person is trying to stop it). A hundred+ people being bloodbent at once? Seems like a little much. The "Special Benders" all shown before now have special abilities, not super abilities.

winx club was supposed to end at season 3 with bloom earning her full-fledged power in the movie, but the ratings were so good Rainbow/iginio straffi decided to renew it with season 4, 5 and more recently 6.

I don't think it's too big of a jump. Remember Boomy from the original avatar? he could Earth bend with his eyes. I don't see this as a huge jump, especially since many of the white lotus during the Last Airbender were very powerful people as well.

Lol I remember when Boomy was earthbending with his joints, but this is a little different. If Boomy was moving mountains with just his eyes, then maybe I could see what Yakome did as being plausible, but he didn't. Also, Yakome's blood bending of 100~ people is on an entire different level than Iroh or anyone from the White Lotus that I remember seeing.
I agree with Polantaris, this ability isn't just special, it is insane.
Lf> someone to teach me how to mention people. No matter what I try, I can't get it to work.

The blood bending shown in the episode was clearly on godlike levels. It was wide ranged, multitargeted, highly precise, special type of bending breaking the rules of "only in a full moon".

Bumi was only Earthbending small rocks with his face. It's not like he did all that Earthbending from his cage.
Also, we've seen characters like Bumi showing the ability to bend that many rocks, however we've never seen a Water Bender bend not only that much water, but that much water plus the resistance the human body would create from Bloodbending; especially not at night, and especially not during a full moon, both of which increase a Waterbender's power.

They are actually kinda low quality, I've made better quality pony gifs myself.

If Katara is old as hell and Korra is like 16 then that means Aang didn't THAT long ago, probably in his early 60's since Katara looks like she's 80. Amon took away Tarlock's bending. Aang took away Yakone's bending so Yakone didn't kill Aang, he probably went through something like Avatar Roku did.
Why do I feel like Amon has something to do with Azula? Call me crazy but I think there might be a connection between Amon and the past events of the Fire Nation. Also, they haven't really shown light on Zuko and his future or offspring. Does he have any children? They showed his face as an elder but that was it.
Energy bending only works if the person's spirit can dominate the other's. I think this will reflect when Amon tries to take away Korra's bending and if he fails, he would lose his own bending which means he wouldn't be able to take anyone's bending away anymore. But that would probably end the series since Amon is the main villain and this is only a season finale.

Aang died at 66, it's in the intro to the first episode I think.

I meant that actual content of the gif rather than the quality, but point taken.

I don't get why we can't just accept why Yakome is just a monstrous beast. There's a lot of stupidly powerful characters in other series.

Because breaking all pre-established rules with no reason at all (for now) seems kinda deus-ex. It's better when the world is consistent.
