I think Tarlock/yakone's water bending just evolved that way. They're ridiculously OP people, but without it, they're not much. Liek combustion man. His special bending was amazing, but he wasn't too good at the normal stuff (if that). Glad to see Katara is improving on the spirit department.

I also wanted Katara to pop out and pwn yakone, but I guess she was at home taking care of the kids. At least we know that the Avatar State pretty much trumps everything. I'm still sticking with my theory that Yakone = Amon. It would explain why he's resistant to bloodbending and how he knows about Energy Bending. And why he's such an evil persona.

Seeing the previews fro the finale, I suspect that when Korra is caught and about to be pwned by Amon, Aang will jump in to save her through the Avatar state much like how Aang could channel Roku. Looking forward to the next episodes!

I doubt Yakone is Amom, he'd be way too old for the job.

From what I remember from the episode where bloodbending was introduced, powerful waterbenders are able to ignore the effects of bloodbending, so I find it a bit annoying to see that noone, not even the avatar at first, has sufficient control over water to own those bloodbenders. They're also ridiciously overpowered, when they can control entire rooms of people at once. I wish the writers would've kept the skill in line with the other bending forms, but I guess water benders>everyone else (except amon). Was anyone else dissapointed Korra didn't air bend herself in the air to prevent getting electrocuted? For me, that was the perfect moment to show some progress in airbending considering the situation she was in.

She's yet to show any real air bending, it would be anti-climatic if it happened just like that. Bloodbenders do seem quite OP, not even other normal water benders can control that much water at once.

Amon being resistant to bloodbending is extremely interesting. I don't think the writers developed that scene that way just to imply that Amon's a badass. My guess? Amon is a vengeful spirit who has come to the physical world to punish humanity for becoming increasingly violent and neglecting the spiritual side of bending. The fact that Avatar as a series has used all of the elements for Chapter titles makes me think that next season will be called Spirit. In Spirit, Korra will have to deal with her shortcomings and explore the Spirit World. Afterwards, she'll convince benders to revert to a more spiritual nature. Why would they listen? Because Amon's going to take away everyone's bending, Korra's included, in the season finale. I just have a feeling.

Also noticed they're showing that Aang's and Amon's ability to take away bending is different from each other. Aang's requires a lot more concentration and only his thumbs are placed on someone's forehead and chest. Amon's method just involves his index and middle finger and a quick tap to the forehead.

I'm convinced that he's not using Energy/Spirit Bending at all, but instead using his own specialized technique.
Amon could be able to blood bend the brain and paralyzing whatever controls bending, but it requires Amon to be a bender...which is unlikely and I would be disappointed if he is.

And seriously, Tarloc asked the right question. WHAT is Amon? It's clear that Tarlocs bloodbending affected him slightly, but he just shrugged it off, even better than Aang could.

hama was not able to resist katara's bloodbending and she was initially stronger than katara.

Well a lot of people are saying he's using energy bending, but I want to think otherwise. :<

The hell is he doing on 0:46 (obviously not the plane explotion)?
If he doesn't bend why would he have his hand like that?

P.S. I just know they'll leave us with one huge cliffhanger on the finale. :S

Am I the only one that's incredibly angry that the entirety of the Korra series is basically 6 episodes longer than one season of the original series? It really burns me that they have this wonderful world and amazing characters that they choose to do nothing with. 26 episodes is not enough.

Give them time, they'll wont resist the ratings they must be getting from this to leave it 2 seasons long(though oddly enough its wikipedia page says it has been decreasing).

Chi blocking would have the same effect too I think.

Chi blocking wouldnt make makos hand stay in that form.
