Don't think that Amon is an airbender. Yes it is possible that he could have survived (like the air bison), but it's not likely considering that Aang was considered to be the only and last airbender (hence the title of the series). I will agree with you on the fact that Amon may have been a bender before and I believe that Aang probably took away his bending (or somehow slipped up during the process and let slip the ways of energy bending, hence letting Amon take away people's bending).

And Spirit isn't directly related to the Air benders like Water benders are to blood bending. Spirit is available and within every person (Uncle Iroh was possibly a highly spiritual fire bender for example). The Air benders were more spiritually focused than the other arts solely because they were air nomads and that was their culture. It would be like comparing a normal, every day christian to a priest- they're both spiritual in their own way, but the priests have dedicated their lives to gaining more spirituality(or in this case, being closer to god).

He was born after the avatar's time and was a natural Airbender. He grew up isolated and alone, and was taunted and teased growing up, constantly being compared to Aang, or some such similar story. Then as a teen he was picked on for being a bender when no one else he knew was, so he grew to revile his bending.

Good point though. I was more referring to sort of secondary skills, though, but you've got a point.

Welp. Aside from morons losing their pomegranate over SHIPPING this was pretty cool. Season finale should be some interesting sh'it. AMON CONFIRMED FOR BAD-ASS MOTHERFUC'KER WHO DON'T TAKE NO pomegranate FROM TARRLOK'S BLOODBENDING.

The Makorra and Asami drama crap in this episode felt so unnecessary. I wish I lived on a planet where romance didn't need to be shoved into every TV show and movie. And I think Mako is becoming one of my least favorite characters. Otherwise great episode. Amon is a BAMF.

Did they explained why blood bending was possible without a full moon? Powerful water-bender? I didn't pay attention to the court trial because I was too overexcited when I saw adult Aang, Sokka and Toph.

Great episode, everyone had badass moments. Especially Amon. How the hell can he resist the blood bending? Robotic limbs? Undead?

They said it's because some benders are born with special abilities. Sokka mentioned Combustion Man as an example, since he could firebend with his mind.

He's just an extremely powerful bender, I presume. The moon just strengthens waterbending so blood bending is more feasible, but it's not a technical prerequisite. Yakone also seems more powerful than Tarrlok since he can bloodbend people just by looking at them.

Well, this episode certainly threw out my theory of Tarloc being in some way related to Amon. He's just a crazy bastard. One who lost his bending now too.

I kind of expected to see Katara at the end of that vision, and her being the one who stopped Yakone, but it turned out that Aang just overpowered him in the Avatar State. I was kinda disappointed to not see Katara at all in the visions.

The only thing that really annoys me about the Bloodbending deal is that if Bloodbending requires so much skill and ability that normally it's only able to be done when there's a Full Moon (And thus their power is great enough to be able to do it), why can Yakone and Tarloc do it to ENTIRE rooms, with hundreds of people? It just seems like a ridiculous jump. I would think that if they were such powerful Water Benders, their Water Bending would be 10x better than what Tarloc showed he was able to do.

So when's Korra going to start Airbending?

I think Tarlock/yakone's water bending just evolved that way. They're ridiculously OP people, but without it, they're not much. Liek combustion man. His special bending was amazing, but he wasn't too good at the normal stuff (if that). Glad to see Katara is improving on the spirit department.

I also wanted Katara to pop out and pwn yakone, but I guess she was at home taking care of the kids. At least we know that the Avatar State pretty much trumps everything. I'm still sticking with my theory that Yakone = Amon. It would explain why he's resistant to bloodbending and how he knows about Energy Bending. And why he's such an evil persona.

Seeing the previews fro the finale, I suspect that when Korra is caught and about to be pwned by Amon, Aang will jump in to save her through the Avatar state much like how Aang could channel Roku. Looking forward to the next episodes!

And seriously, Tarloc asked the right question. WHAT is Amon? It's clear that Tarlocs bloodbending affected him slightly, but he just shrugged it off, even better than Aang could.
