This. Didn't know you can't B/go to base. When they said rules in chat, all they mentioned was

- don't go to top/bot
- don't buy snowball items
- don't guy GA
- everything else is fair game

After people started saying things, I stopped doing it.

Yeah, even I'm not so sure on those, because I've NEVER heard of Surge being banned and/or Snowball items being allowed in ARAB.

Although, I never actually checked if the snowball items are banned in Dominion.

General rule is that snowball items are banned in both ARAB and ARAM. Surge was originally banned because in the announcement of the new summoner spells it was worded to function for your entire team in the form of an aura. Kind of the replacement of Rally, which was banned, due to obvious OP-ness in a constant 5vs5 team battle, but it shouldn't be banned anymore after it really came out. It's also a virtually useless spell aside from some rare exceptions, so you should just go with the standard Flash, Heal and Clarity. Played over 100 ARAM games and this is generally accepted. The only gray area from what I've experienced is the rules when inhibitors go down and minions start to catch up to your outer inhibitors. Are you allowed to defend or not? This usually doesn't occur though because ARAM games are rarely that long.

If it was released as originally planned, it would have been really unbalanced with 5 champions and 5 surges.

The maplestory equivalent would be

Mana manipulator is like blue aura, not that great
The old surge is like dark aura, which is amazing

Is accepted that once the inhibitor tower is down, you are allowed to kill any minion near the inhibitor only. But if you reach that point, its more than likely that the game its about to end anyway.

I've bounced back from an ARAM like that before. The extra farm helps.

I've also played a variant where if both inhib towers are down, you can run back to the fountain and buy/regen.

Although, I never actually checked if the snowball items are banned in Dominion.

Checking up on this, the 3 Snowball items are "Unavailable" in Dominion, so that will explain why the GIF doesn't talk about them.
