Fairy Tail Thread (Spoilers)

I like how the fight if done on naruto or bleach would have taken maybe 10 chapters, but fairlytail does it in in like 6 pages. would have been cool to see some A rank monsters + the S rank one but at least this way we figure out the power level of everyone and skip ahead to the juicy parks.

The giant raven tail guy creeps me off. Otherwise, it was a great chapter though I would've liked to see Erza fighting. She seems so overpowered with her magic potential drawn.

When the dude was explaining the rules, I was half-thinking about the possibility of someone taking all 100 at once, but I was like nahhhhhh he's going to drag this out to make it more intense in the area.

Yup. Once he said there are 100 monsters to fight. I thought Erza would be perfect for this. Can't wait for next chapter. She's obviously able to deal with Mermaid Heel in my opinion.

It started sounding like an interesting challenge, like the one from 1st day which required a some strategy instead of just brute force. Why did Mashima have to cliche it and make one person kill them all? and on top of that in like only 4 pages? DAMM, IT TOOK THE PUMPKIN MORE TO EXPLAIN THE WHOLE SHET THAN FOR ERZA TO CLEAR IT OUT.

I really hope this isn't the fan's doing, rushing Mashima to get into the plot behind the games or something... I'm disappointed

I also thought of this, but when the Pumpkin said "The S rank is stronger than a Saint Wizard" I had hopes this would be more complex than that. As awesome as this makes Erza, this puts her above every mther fker in that Colloseum, which is BS.

If you want exposition, watch the anime. The manga has been doing this from (near) the very start. Things that look "rushed" in the manga get significant expansion in the anime. Slowing the pace down for overly extended action scenes is not what has made fairy tail one of the most popular shonen manga at the moment (And doing that is exactly what has gotten bleach cancelled).

Yes, how dare one of the top 3 members of the strongest guild who was previously suggested to be at the level of a wizard saint way back in the tower of heaven arc become much stronger than that after a significant power boost.

Dude I am not even sure that Erza got the 2nd Origin boost. If i recall correctly Natsu, Grey and Lucy said that she prolly had the second origin from the very start, hence why she wasn't in pain/had all that body paint during that part. The problem isn't Erza being on the same level as a wizard saint, but her fighting several of those monsters and still pwning them with ease. I don't want them to do stuff as slow as Bleach or Naruto but 4 pages is a joke...

In the end, my only true complaint is that this was done too damm fast

She was very hurt and bloody at the end of it in case you didnt notice, so i assume it wasnt just a cake walk.

Yeah, but then the other teams would have gotten points. I guess if Cana had pulled number 2, Erza could have picked 99 and let fairy tail B take second place, but this way forces everyone else to come last and get 0 points.

The judges are probably just going to divide the 100 points between every team because obviously they didn't expect this and auto-winning the entire tournament definitely isn't going to be allowed. Splitting up the points at least means that the challenge essentially never happened as well as setting things up for the possibility of a "point snatch" game.

They'll probably just raise the point amount needed to win. Thus, making the next games worth more points. If they divided points up like that it would make her efforts wasted pretty much.

I... wow. Yeah, I absolutely love how it took more pages to introduce all of the events' participants, explain the game, and watch them come up with strategies- only for Erza to completely wreck all 100. It's not that surprising either, considering that she took down over half of the few hundred Lightning Lacrima that Laxus put over the city for his Thunder God Palace thing over 100 chapters ago. Considering how scratched up she looked at the end of this chapter, I wonder if she'll be able to fight. It really did look like they were building up towards a fight between her and Milliana, and I'm wondering if it'll actually happen. Ideally, I'm imagining that each opponent will be from a different guild each time and no competitor goes up twice (Mind you, I understand that it has never been stated)- so I'd say Milliana is probably Erza's. I'm also wondering if Wendy will actually get to do anything at all during the games as well- she needs to do something awesome to redeem herself for getting wrecked by Obra before the games.

Also: yes, to the above, I agree that they'll probably create some kind of point snatching game or an equalizer of sorts.

The number of points got in this event is only relevant for this event alone. What means is that since Erza got the most points, her team gets 10 points in the main scoreboard, while everyone else gets 0 cuz... they did nothing.

The only way I can think this is aswesome is by considering that Erza went on this solo because she was so disturbed by her talk with Miliana and was trying to clear up her mind and let out the frustration, and that she was bathered in blood to match with her name, scarlet.

So they did end up creating a 2nd game for the remaining contestants.
