Last month, Shaw ruled that the Xbox 360 violated a string of patents Motorola holds for video decoding, Wi-Fi connection, and console-to-accessory connections.

Motorola claimed to patent before Microsoft practically all of their no cable accessories.

Stupid stuff.

From what I understand it's only the 4 GB and 250 GB 360 S models being banned, I don't know what that means since I really don't follow the consoles, I follow the games.

It’s all about android really. Microsoft have been after Motorola for a while and this was their retaliation. It’s not like it’s actually banned yet anyway. Still plenty of time to get one if you somehow haven’t got around to it since 2005.

It’s only the new models because the old models don’t have built in wifi, good old Microsoft.

That's not the right way to look at this. If Apple made an XBox 361 that was identical to an Xbox 360, just painted white again, the government should consider it patent infringement and take it off the market. No matter how much people "want to buy it."

The issue here is that the patent is probably frivolous in the first place. Still, preventing patent infringement should trump people wanting to buy infringing things.
