Luxeraph Wrote:I bet it all will end with a new set of laws protecting non-benders from benders since we all know benders wont cease to exist and benders are actually oppressing non-benders (there is no non-bender in the counsil and instead of trying to talk with Amon they go straight to fight/kill).
Also Asami=Amon anyone?
This is actually a very good point, that might end up as the result once Amon is dealt with.
No Non-Bender on the counsel means that they essentially have no say, which probably is all the leverage Amon has when gaining support. If the Non-Benders had a say, he probably would have not gained so much support and power. In the end the result will probably be having a new counsel member, a Non-Bender, at the very least.
As for the Asami thing...I dunno. I doubt there are voice-changing devices in the Avatar world, even though there has been technological advancement it seems very unlikely it has advanced that far. Also, her reaction after attacking her father, as well as her resolve to figure out what's going on with him is something that's hard to fake (although not impossible). It seems unlikely, but I wouldn't rule it out completely.

Had an interesting thought from a friend.
Shouldn't the benders crush the non-benders since they should have access to the same technology non-benders have? I mean, they confiscate so much non-bender stuff, why not use it? If they have non-bender technology stuff + their own natural bending powers, they should have easily crushed the non-benders.

o.o Wouldn't that just further aggravate the tension between benders and non-benders, though?

After having caught up on this new series, I must say it has dissapointed me a bit compared to the old series. Somehow it's less impactful on an emotional level to me, but that might be just missing the old cast, while adjusting to these new characters. Also a few things that are irritating is how lightning bending, which was only practiced by the elite benders and was regarded as extremely dangerous, now seems so common and easy to use. Same goes for metal bending, where I always had thought Toph was one of a kind in that her senses were heightened due to her blindness, but now we've an entire police squad using it with ease. I hope blood bending doesn't get the same treatment, and stays reserved for a character of importance, hopefully one that's on the good side. Bending in itself is just a tool for power. What matters is how you use that power and I fail to see why blood bending couldn't be used for good too. Benders also seem really underwhelming compared to mere equalist foot soldiers. People also seem really stupid, the people of the council just going along with whatever one is saying, the police squad failing miserably against lightning sticks (really?). I hope they get power scaling sorted out eventually. Bit surprised that Korra hasn't once entered the avatar state, she seems the emotional type.

If you watched the most recent episode, you'll know that she can't enter the avatar state because she isn't too good in the spiritual department OR the air bending department. essentially, she can only get flashbacks right now, which Tenzin has attributed to Aang trying to reach out to her.
