Diablo3 class thread

I'm torn about the Auction House, it seems to make merchants and the blacksmith completely useless at least for the lower levels.

It kind of is, but hey. Free quick access to uber gear for your level. Also nice to sell your own crap on the auction house for gold.

Oh god no, once i saw level 1 was 5k i was like, "Ill do that when im super rich late game"

I do admit they are doing a pretty nice job with making gold actually useful in this game. Not like D2 where gold was less valuable than even air.

On a side-note, MFW people QQing on the D3 forums that Inferno is too hard AND/OR D3 sucks hard compared to D2. *remembers terribad mercenaries, game economy being run by Stone of Jordans/Runes, end-game was speed farming everything, and getting 1-2 shot in PvP in a battle of who can twitch better. Also how Hell mode in that game only got better when better gear got added much later on*. Good grief the game's barely been out for a weekish. >_>

Up to 58 on my demon hunter, but kiting in fear of getting 2 shot all day is getting more stressful than fun. Rolled a barb and am having a blast at low levels just jumping in and going all out without worries of dying.

Trying out a new "Solo Barb" build and it's pretty good for the most part.

The "Wrath Quake" combo (Wrath of the Berserker + Earthquake) totally destroys all Elite / Champion packs. The only packs that still rape me are ones with Molten or Desecration.
Since I'm not 60 yet, this will have to do until I can get "Impunity" for War Cry and "Revel" for Overpower.

Monk got massively nerfed and a ton of hotfixes were put into the game today. A list is expected to show up tomorrow.
Latest buzz on the Rumor mill is Wizard's "Force Armor" got nerfed into the ground.

We've made a number of class changes (again, intend to post about all of them tomorrow) and we want to monitor how those shake out before we attack any content difficulty changes. Our intent is to get classes a bit more aligned, verify no new issues crop up from these hotfixes, and then considering all the factors we'll look at content. It's not a preferred method of operating, I'd say, but just because the game is so new we don't think quick decisions on overall balance is the right approach when the metagame is still shifting.

Hotfix update notes were released, sad that nothing happened with Barb, while Monk is even more worthless in Inferno :/
DH and Wiz can still farm Inferno with ease, but they need to be a helluva lot more careful now.

hit level 60 a couple hours ago then went in to work to find out the schedule got messed up so know i have more time to mess around tonight!. Hit 60 just before the end of act 3 with 28k health and 14k dps w/sharpshooter, 7k without.

Auction House makes BlackSmith freaking useless in the 50-60 range. There's no point to it when you can just buy GOOD gear for 5-20k on the AH. I spent about 150k last night and I doubled my HP (16k -> 32.4k) and increased my DPS by nearly 2k (3.1k -> 4.8k).
