Dark Link Wrote:That's the problem with Barbs. If you go full out damage, you get ripped apart in Nightmare and beyond. You have to, more or less, go moderately defensive to survive.
It's not any surprise why the Hell / Inferno clear Barbs are all "Full Defensive" with +Vit Gear / Gems and whatnot.
I see, I see. At the moment I'm still pretty hard pressed to give up Whirlwind because it's insanely fun. But I guess I better gear him up first before I can go more reckless. If I'm not able to Whirlwind to my heart's content I think I'll grab Berserker Rage to take advantage of the constant full Fury I should always have. I'm probably either replacing Nerves of Steel OR Tough As Nails, whichever will end up giving me less of an armor boost; I'm not sure how high thorns damage will get so I'm leaning towards Tough As Nails to swap out for Berserker Rage.
With a lot of patience got to Act 2.
Also, the beggining of Act 2, before going to the sewers, doesn't make me lag that much.
I'm gonna farm that part for a week or two, will get new computer next week or so. :'D
Also, I just want to say, pineapple my Maple friend for trolling us hardcore on Diablo. He joins my game, while a WoW friend and I just started fighting Diablo, and he doesn't even bother leaving the game. He sits in town until after we kill Diablo...

I know how you feel, i was attempting to get the achievement for having a companion get the last hit on the bosses and my friend joins during the boss fights making the companion return to town.
Atleast he said sorry and didn't mean to bother me.
But yea, blizzard really needs to add the option to lock a game so nobody else can join but the people already in it.
>Fire Chain
>Jailer
>Molten
>Vortex
Don't know if such a combination exists, but heard people talk about it. Sounds scary.
Please explain to me how his combination works. The only hellish one (pun intended) I know about was the infamous Multi-shot Lightning Enchanted (MSLE) boss monsters from D2; so many died from those monsters.
Fire chain = monsters are linked together by a chain of fire, touch it and you get damaged, massively.
Molten = monsters leave behind a trail of lava that burns which also hurts massively
Jailer = monsters can disable you for a good amount of time and it doesn't have that high cooldown
Vortex= monsters can drag you into them again/create a vortex that sucks things towards the middle of it
If that combo exists, i feel bad for anyone that faces it.

Ready for some hell mode later tonight? Those elite mobs are fucking ridiculous. >_>
Finally made my way into Hell mode. That last fight on Nightmare was... exhausting but worthwhile. Learned a few things in terms of survival.(like actually using Preparation)
Invulnerable Minions... I don't think I like this type...
Edit: Plagues Arcane Enchanted on top of that. You have to tip toe around the traps just to play pin the tail on the leader which ends badly before you get an eighth of his health. That's some wicked combination.

I had a combo last night in Nightmare that was Plagued, Molten, and Desecration. Not the best combo when there's small rooms everywhere lol.
Also I had my first taste of "Invulnerable Minions" a bit ago. I only survived it due to Revenge proccing like crazy.
EDIT: Fire Ice combos (Frozen + Fire Chain / Molten / Desecration / etc) are the most annoying pomegranate ever!
Also, unless the Elite / Champion packs, that have "Invulnerable Minions", have some retarded ground effect (Plagued, Molten, Desecration, etc), I can just sit in the middle of the pack and spam Revenge all day long, because even if the minions are immune to damage, I still get the +5% HP from each monster hit. Revenge with the "Provocation" rune is godlike as hell. 30% Proc rate to recover 5% HP per monster hit? I'll take it!
Up to Act 3 on Nightmare now, I'm trying to figure out a good Monk build but I seem to die way more often than I should. I have about 9k HP and ~700 or so damage, trying to get better stuff but I've not had much luck with drops. Sold a few things in the auction house though so maybe I'll have some more luck there.
Anyone able to recommend a good Monk build? I'm leaning towards a dodge-oriented one because that seems pretty useful (I have 42% dodge currently with Mantra of Evasion on after the first 3 seconds) but against groups of yellow mobs I die really quickly. Surprised at how fun this game is, I'm really enjoying it.

What level are you? I'm on act3 of nightmare with my wizard, been duoing with my only friend() on the game, he happens to be a Monk. I think he had something like 2k dps, and 15k hp @ level 45 and has only ever died at Belial(we've co-op'd since SK on normal till now).
If I could remember his battletag's last 4 digits, I'd tell you so you could ask for build help.
If you want, can add me, he'll surely be on when I am later. Handicapable#1410
