Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS)

The question is, are God and his army REALLY the good guys? I would say more but let's not change the direction of the thread.

Back on the topic, I couldn't help thinking of Spirit Bomb, when I saw that ability that drains spirit particles. Also, still no Grimmjow! Damnit Kubo, you better not disappoint me D:

It's not a question of understanding religions, it's challenging the perspective of "pure" and "good". Angels are universally seen as "good", but in perspective maybe that self image makes them unpure. Psychotic for the name of their own personal Justice. Look at deathnote, Kira was considered a God, his intentions were pure, and on the cover, yeah reasonable. But as the story progressed you find such decisions are much more complex and harder to draw the line.

I don't know the right way to put it, but in a sense they are just extremists, shinigami essentially "purge" hollows and recyle them, quincy outright obliterate them that f`ucks up the balance. So you can see, their decisions are nothing but black and white, like most "angel's" judgement would be.

And if I recall there wasn't any real "encounter" with an Angel in the bible, or not the ones you're describing anyway.

There are some, like the one that talked to Mary or the one that talked to Abaham. I'm not knowledgeable about the bibble so I don't know how many but I know they were mostly messengers to humanity from God. This is a pretty extensive topic and rather complicated aswell so let me finish saying this, Christianity isn't "unforgiving and have an egotistical", at all, it is in no way like Kira. I took my comment that Japan might not know this from the fact that they use them as antagonist most, if not all the time. Maybe they do know but it's just that, like with "Zombie apocalipse" and "The end of the world", "Alien invasion" and etc, this argument sells more.

I'm pretty sure they were either winged or just lighst with voices. that's where the all-time's concept of angels come from after all.

We are looking at this in 2 different ways. I am not debating the posibility of bad angels because Lucifer himsef was an angel to begin with. but when they draw religious figures they don't just draw 1 or two and make them bad, they make their whole organization bad. I haven't seen any religious content portrayed in a good way since one Arc of Rurouni kenshin. I've heard Japan's society is well knowledgeable about other cultures from the world maybe they just choose this because "it sells more".

This. They don't need to go out of their way to make religion look bad because many times (at least in the media), organized religion makes itself look bad.

The way I see it, especially in manga, everyone belonging to a certain group feels justified in their means to meet their goals, whether or not they are bat-s'hit-crazy or actually logical.

It is nothing like these guys when the main base of its preachings are love above heatred, there is always forgiveness if you repent from your heart and if you can accomplish anything if you have faith in both God and yourself. I'm not pretty sure what you mean by cultist, but in the way I get it, yes it is, in the way that if you have a friend, you talk to him, if you pray then you get, and if you get, you say thank you. If you think not then you don't quite get it or the ones that have tried to teach you got the wrong idea (like the guys yelling on the streets "the ending is near"). There are people that make it look bad? yes, as for just about any career out there.

It would slip through me if I had seen a manga/anime in which they make these characters look good but again, even in Rurouni Kenshin they were being slaughtered too, so they started a riot. In any case, this was just something that tickled me out a little, I really am not here to teach southperry about religion (not like I even can to be honest) so I will let it go.

OT: I can so watch the Quincy King showing before Aizen and trolling everyone making us think he will free him, just to kill him and steal the Kukioyou or whatever the heck is called.

Yea I agree, chapter started out cool, then started throwing redundancy in our faces. Pretty crazy that this quincy commander is this strong.

Gotta say I am disappointed that even thought the Quincy guy got so beat up, he could still stand up and put an attitude. So what are they? Zombie Quincies or something?. I really hope Allon puts up some fight because this guy killing Allon with ease would prolly put him close to Yamamoto in powerlevel.

Then they foreshadow Uruyu being some uber powerful quincy. I mean seriously this is just bad development, they've completely underminded the power of the quincy for the entire series, save the first two saga's, then expect us to suddenly accept a power boost like this?

Remember the time Uryuu fought Mayuri? He defeated his Bankai with 1 single arrow shot after taking off his glove and unleashing his volstandig (or w.e is called). If quincy can master that technique, It does make sense for them to become so powerfull, even Uryuu. Maybe the quincy king plans on raising Uryuu as his disciple.

It makes sense when you consider that they can absorb all spirit particles, so in Hueco Mundo and Soul Society they are extremely OP. Regardless, I agree with KhainiWest. It is pretty ridiculous that the Quincy were underplayed this entire manga and now suddenly they are back and the King's understudies seem to be as strong as Yamamoto.

Guess I'll just sit here and wait for Ichigo to powerup again and retake the spotlight.
