booming wedding rings, fort knox...

Exactly.

Hoping and praying that the glitch that keeps you safe is still there tomorrow is not "security".

They need to have you enter a code when you login in from a different ip address. Just get the code sent to your phone.

So the special chars were fixed few months ago, now we can't lock our accounts with hotspot shield. Rageeee.

Anyone have other locking or deactivating methods?

Confirming HotSpot lock method no longer works. I thought maybe it was because my new ISP was different somehow, but I guess not.

Faxing a form to Nexon to have your account terminated.

Oh they got rid of the option to do so from the website itself? Figures. They'll take any chance of us being suckered back into their money schemes. Rolleyes

It might still be there. I might be thinking of the reactivation process.

Confirming Hot Spot shield works again.

Are you asking or stating, because confirmation requires an initial statement that it's working and someone confirming.
You can't independently "confirm" your own claim as it were.

At best you're claiming hot spot shield works again Rolleyes

Finally I can keep my computer off and not care.

I tested it before I posted that it worked again. I should have clarified. My bad.

I had two other buddies test it and also confirmed it works again. Go nuts.

So what does it actually do? What's the method to protect my account? o-o

People won't be able to log into your account without your email. You use Hotspot shield to get an ip banned ip address and login through the site to deactivate your account. When you want to login again, you login through the site to send a re-verification link to your email. Then you put a new password and you can use your account again.

It is perhaps worthwhile to point out that there is some risk associated with this. For all we know, Nexon could implement a cap after which multiple blocked-IP access attempts would trigger a flag on your account. Sure, it's unlikely that they care enough to have this measure in place, but it's still something to think about.

Trying out the Hotspot Shield method for now.

Seems to work but like Leaves said, I still can't sleep at night because of a few (although unlikely) risks.

Is it just me or does Hotspot shield not work anymore? It didn't lock my account earlier. Can anyone confirm?
