Unless he stacked a massive amount of AD (which he didn't) then Thornmail would still be useless. Thornmail is probably one of the worst defensive items on anyone. Randuin's and Frozen Heart do a better job since they actually provide more than just flat armor and a shitty passive. Not to mention Thornmail is basically negated by any kind of lifesteal anyways.

Also, Atma's becomes cost effective at like 1800 HP (or something close to that). Atma's doesn't need that much HP to make it a good buy for any tanky deeps.

The two champs that have actual taunts should still not bother with it. Rammus has a built in Thornmail, and I would consider getting it on him only because of his Armor -> Attack passive. Even still Randuin's or Frozen Heart are the better choices because they actually can do things.

When's the last time you've seen a "pro player" pick up Thornmail? I don't think I've ever seen any reputable player pick it up; they always pick up Randuin's or Frozen Heart.

That wasn't "heavy AD", there was exactly one non-conditional "heavy AD" item in that game, and it was on the underfarmed Garen.

Allow me to rephrase then: I enjoy using Thornmail, and the game was essentially over at the point that I bought it (I bought it last). I already had more than enough armor and magic resist to handle anything the enemy team could throw at me and didn't want to stack HP. Can we please stop dwelling on my item choices in a game that happened in the past, it's getting fucking annoying having to justify a single item choice in a game that was already over when I bought it.

It's not the worst, but it is one of the worst. The problem with Thornmail is that it gives one stat and its passive is really meh. And as I already pointed out, both Randuin's and Frozen Heart have more practicality.

I'm not trying to berate you and say you're bad, I'm trying to be helpful. Thornmail is just one of those items (with Madred's) that is just so awful and only "uninformed" people get them. :/

Hi I'm a AD carry. I have built a Last Whisper, a stacked (or fully stacked) Bloodthirster, and have a MR item on me too (Banshee Veil, QSS, etc). Thornmail just tickles me when I autoattack you.

^ Just one way how someone can counter Thornmail outright.

Now stop bringing it up. If I was tryharding or if the game hadn't been all but formally over at the time, I would not have bought the Thornmail. It's an item I have personal attachment to, not something I thought was optimal. I keep saying this and people keep trying to argue its value.

It's not that bad. I mean, the worst part is Frozen Heart, but you can justify that because it has great stats (mana, cdr). Ideally she would've had a Shurelia's instead of that, but it's not like she got the worst items.

Lulu's build is fine I guess. Even though ap Lulu is still the better build I've seen good tank Lulu's.
