I typically use hair ties and wear it in a ponytail. Although I do believe I went a day of high school with it covering my face like that back before I got a buzz cut. The picture is recent my hair grows back rather fast I do believe.

Haircut time.
Before (unwanted photo, terrible facial expression)
After (bad lighting; Also taken with a 3DS, so the image is flipped. O_o I wear my hair the other direction)

Spoiler

Ah, going to Washington, DC with high school friends was fun. I got to ride a train for the first time in my life and we got lost quite a bit between which trains we had to get on, then off of, then back on. Good times. ...I need to get out of the house more.

My hair is naturally thick and curly as well, but I get it chemically relaxed every 8-10 weeks to keep it straight. That's another option beyond flat irons if you don't want to keep ironing your hair every day.

My hair is sorta thick, but it's really soft apparently, so it doesn't need much for it to look good. Dan relaxes his hair? o.O I just assumed your hair was naturally like that! ^ This also works too, Tikey

God no my natural hair consists of tight, Puerto Rican curls, the only physiological aspect of that heritage. I've been getting it relaxed for...let's see...7 years now, so it's important to bear in mind that what I have doesn't come with one treatment. That being said, it doesn't take THAT long, just more like 3-4ish treatments.
