Master Cubers of Maple World, rejoice! Nows your chance to upgrade that Unique weapon youve been saving to Legendary tier!

-Time-
Saturday, April 28, 2012

Pacific: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Eastern: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

-What-
The chance of your equipment's Potential tier increasing is significantly higher than usual when you use a Miracle Cube, Premium Miracle Cube, or Super Miracle Cube.

You can purchase the Cubes from the Cash Shop for:

And now with fewer Cubes, too!

<div class="hr"/>And just in case you need a refresher...

What's the Potential System?
  • A potential is a hidden attribute contained within certain special "unidentified" weapons. You need Magnifying Glasses, which can be purchased from store NPCs, to identify the potential on those items. Potential items also have tiers: Rare, Epic, Unique, and Legendary, with Legendary being the most powerful. Higher tiered items will have better potential powers.
  • You can only get items with hidden potential on them as drops from monsters or if you transform them yourself using a Potential Scroll or Tim's Secret Lab. If items with potential are fused, the resulting item will also contain potential.
What do Cubes do again?

Read about Miracle Cubes.
Read about Premium Miracle Cubes, which have a chance grant an extra line of potential.
Read about Super Miracle Cubes, which lets you upgrade items to the Legendary tier!

This is very interesting.

If true, it means they can vary cube "success rates" on the fly.
What kind of scamming company codes that sort of thing into its game?
You'd expect cubes to have fixed rates that we could maybe figure out, an "expected cost" a person could take into account when considering whether to improve or replace their gear. But no. They are flat-out telling us they can make them as "unlucky" or "lucky" as they please, without even a maintenance. Makes you feel confident about buying cubes on sale, right? Or buying them at all, for that matter...

Of course it might not be true, and this might just be a marketing lie. Let's see anyone prove the chance didn't really go up.

Maybe I've just had rotten luck, but I've suspected for a long time that they reduce the chances whenever they have a cube sale, and I now avoid buying discount cubes. I also suspect (and I know I'm not alone in this) that the upgrade chances are considerably lower than they were when cubes were first introduced 2 (?) years ago.

Manipulating the RNG isn't hard. It isn't a shock either, but it's still underhanded.

I've had my best cubing luck ever during the last sale so to claim they manipulate the rates during times when they want to get better sales is just cynical of the company.

agree with this, except for a incident with those 3L cubes, my luck cubing stuff was at its peak the last 3 days.

Lol, right after the cube sale. Clever Nexon, very clever. "Don't let them stop buying cubes!"

Haha, that claw; stuck at 2-lines forever unless they bring those new cubes from JMS over.

Probably gonna camp Basil and here for the incoming crapstorm. It's gonna be 0.01% higher knowing Nexon Rolleyes.

I'm worried about if they actually do this during the sales after reading this now. ;/

Scam or not I'm taking advantage of the event. pomegranate. I probably have the worst luck cubing. When people talk about going Rare to Unique in 10 cubes or even to Legend that always makes me sad. It always takes me about 100-150k NX to get to that point.

Ill wait until someone in my alliance states that it works. Until then, I will keep my money in my bank account.

'Significantly higher' doesn't mean anything. I wish they'd say outright how much they're increasing the chance by. I've got most of a pack of 11 leftover but I won't be charging NX for this.

I got only 5 Cubes (2 Regular, 1 Premium, And 2 Legendary) leftover. I want to see where it will take me.
