[RED] Archer Skill Builds
Locked Wrote:No.
There are different types of avoid.
Avoid. Which is the stat in your window. This calculates an Evasion Rate.
Avoid Rate. Which multiplies your avoid by whatever percentage it is, this contributes to the Evasion Rate.
Dodge Rate. This is a flat chance to avoid an attack. This is what illusion step is.
Evasion Rate%. This multiplies your evasion rate by whatever percentage it provides. The third job archer skill is that.

I cant check the game right now because its down but Im pretty sure that the skill "dodge" which is the name of ems evasion boost is dodge rate rather than evasion rate and when I cast illusion step it doesnt increase my avoid to the point where it should be if it was 30%+ avoid.

Can you please check this again on your bow master?

He didn't say it would increase your avoid. He said that IS gives Dodge Rate- which "is a flat chance to avoid an attack." I know for a fact that Evasion Boost and IS do not give the same thing.

Evasion Boost is dodge CHANCE.

Posting SS of IS and non-IS active on BM brb

Actually, I'll just leave it to Locked/CFD.

I know nothing besides the fact they are not the same.

Avoid's stat on the table is called +x,y,z,w, eva, etc.
Avoid Rate%'s stat on the table is called evaR%.
Dodge rate's stat on the table is called proc%
Evasion Rate%'s stat on the table is called er%.

Evasion Boost = er%
Illusion Step = proc%

Locked Wrote:Depends on the character and their values of the different types of avoid.
E.g.
Suppose you had an avoid rate of 74% and a dodge rate of 40%. That means that 26% * 40% is the probability of dodge actually working, which is 10.4%. Compare that to 25% evasion rate which would land you 74 * 1.25 = 92.5% and you notice that dodge rate isn't that great.

So what your saying is that Evasion (aka "miss") is calculated before dodge(AKA a special animation)?

well I didnt know that. On my paladin I never actually got misses...except for those once in a blue moon. It was always divine->guardian-> hit.

Because 3rd job is at 60 and 4th job is at 100 and they changed a lot of skill's max levels durrr

Why max your attacking skills first in 4th job instead of the passives?

I see, for Bowmaster Hypers since I have 100% crit rate, I won't be using the Sharp Eyes Critical Chance:

If I remember correctly, you have 5 points to place in that so I was thinking of:
Arrow Blaster - Reinforce, Boss Rush, and Extra Target
Sharp Eyes - Guardbreak

Which leaves me with one more skill, which of the 3 arrow streams would be more beneficial then?

Bonus Attack.

I think the SE hyper that gives 5% pdr ignore is a pretty negligible bonus. I personally put my last 2 points into the +20% damage +1 monsters hit and +1 attack for arrow stream.
