Guild Wars 2
|
|
Organization decided to pick Far Shiverpeaks because it wasn't that popular, which means less other people.
EDIT: This server will most likely have a large Dutch speaking population because we "claimed" it (on gw2guru and such). EDIT2: A ton of Scandinavian guilds also decided to join. Probably will be more fun than playing with just Dutch speaking people.

Hmmmmmm, definitely going to avoid Yak's Bend. I'll see what my friend's friends will lean to, but Crystal Desert is such a cute name. I know this only matters for WvWvW. Edit: derp, with all the updates, so far Sea of Sorrows looks like the only decent choice for my friends and I. Edit: http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/beta-wee...nt-primer/ ― for nubs like me. And wait what, they aren't allowing guesting? Am I reading right.

HURRAY I MANAGED TO DO A VERY GOOD DEAL WITH MY PARENTS SO I CAN PREORDER GUILD WARS 2.
Well actually I'll probably regret it later when I'm in college, but it's for my own good. SEE YOU THIS WEEKEND GUYS. I think I might join Raizoo in the Sea of Sorrows.

Didn't know pre-order included beta weekend access f6
Oh well, have fun! ![]() I'll be on FOW or vabbi in the EU.

Pre-ordered. I wonder if I'll even be able to play here in Japan, though, free weekend or not.

Well, that was a bad idea to pick Sea of Sorrows (US). It's very laggy lol. I'm not sure if it's my computer or the server.

Thank you Arenanet for not erasing my previous server choice(of an earlier event). Now I'm stuck on the fullest server in Europe, and I don't get the "free" 2000 gems unless I enter credit card info (which I don't have). So much for getting to enjoy the game this weekend.

Just a note: This event is a beta event, the game is going trough a beta, AKA you're meant to report all problems you encounter to let them fix bugs, problems and issues.
Of course you'll get a taste of the game with this beta, but it was expected that it'd be like this on the first day, lol.

They fixed the mess with the servers. The game is a ton more fun when you can play with people you enjoy playing with. Got to Lv.10 on my Charr Elementalist, and I'm going to try some WvW tonight (once the servers aren't as busy). Weekend saved

Well, it turns out my favorite class is not a thief, elementalist, mesmer, warrior, or necromancer.
It's the pineappleing ranger. LOL.

Did a little WvW just now, but it's way too busy (and another server we're fighting against owns about 70% of the map). I'm going to do something else for now and then come back at 3 AM or so and then WvW some more. The game really gets better by the minute.

I just realized how much I took Maplestory's vast amount of skills per character as granted. The thought that's I'm going to spam same 10 skills the next 80 levels is just...urgh...
I also don't like...I'm basically just spamming my skills whenever they're off cooldown. Then again, I haven't played in real PvP yet (just PvE and WvW). I mean seriously, I'm just button mashing 1 and 2452354432534253252 as fast as I can. I'm going to get carpal tunnel. The music is amazing. I dislike the controls. I didn't exactly figure out how to backpedal and attack the enemy. I prefer Vindictu's controls. The quest is system is better than most MMO's systems, but I raised my bar too high, ha ha. Voice acting is pretty crappy (IMO human Street Rat has the best personal storyline so far). I heard the storyline picks up at 10 though. I can't wait. Human females have a distinct lack of character customization (ha). Holy crap the maps are HUGE. I initially thought that main part of Queensdale and the city were like the only points, and then I fell over when I discovered another town. It feels cool that I could walk from one to another without really seeing any loading screens. WvW is a zerg fest. It takes forever to take fortresses without siege equipment =(. I do find it fun though. Lousy chat system. I think it gets a 7-8/10 in my book. Of course, it's only a beta, so I hope it gets bumped up to a 9/10 on release. I'm also not level 10 yet, which a lot of people are saying it picks up at.

Level 9 necro atm, been using staff primarily - reminds me almost of being a soul bender in DFO, placing circles on the ground and all.

After playing Tera, I can't even touch this game. Tera's controls are vastly superior. Whoever thought of forward actually move the character forward based on his direction should be shot. I find it way to hard to do anything because moving is so freaking annoying. Not to mention, turning the camera is a bloody chore. On the other hand, the mapping system is absolutely beautiful. Quests and fun, and the setpieces are huge. I really wish there was some mix of Tera and Guild Wars 2. I'd never leave my computer.

I don't know.
I feel that the controls are tight and slick and do exactly what i want, combat feels fluid and it is a great transition from GW1 to GW2. And the storylines are absolutely amazing. And the interactive combat is amazing, being electrocuted and so on, it's brilliant.

Made it to level 13, really hate that monsters give almost no exp (if at same level as you) and that you have to rely on events/quests to level much. Loved having blood well though, great AOE healing ability (and I noticed it changing my basic attack somehow, not sure what exactly it did, but it left a white trail on my autoattack's missile). Staff was definitely my preferred weapon on my Necro - everything else just felt too risky for such a squishy character.

Admittedly, I will say that the amount of exp monsters give COULD be adjusted a bit, but I really enjoy participating in events/quests to level up. |
