Empress killable legitimately
#81
Let me get this straight then, you want me to explain why purchasing hacked items isn't legitimate? This whole argument is about how ACCORDING TO YOU the almighty SP donor nothing will ever be legitimate because of hacked items... so, you're completely contradicting yourself right there

No, this argument isn't going anywhere because you are not very good at debating and KhainiWest has a tendency to get into these interminable arguments, almost as bad as Viaje. Please, take it to PMs and try to convince him. Believe me, the rest of Southperry is not reading your altercation and is not waiting with bated breath to see who comes out the winner.

Edit: Thanks, Ray.

I don't know what the argument is about because I don't feel like reading 3 pages of responses to every single sentence each person quoted, but why does anyone still care about this anymore? I thought it was common sense that anything new put into the game would be first dominated by the hackers, and legits second (Legits being people not using a program to help them). That's how the game is, and apparently Nexon is okay with that because they don't seem to be changing it.

Being legit means not using any means that aren't available to everyone in order to gain an edge in the game, not counting buying NX. If you earned 60m by soloing Zakum and selling helmets, and then used 60m to buy a Protection Scroll (that's obviously duped), it shouldn't be considered not legit simply because they are now available to everyone and anyone can get them, whether they're original source was legit or not.

Empress is technically killable legit, but the way the game is nowadays and how much Nexon has drove it into the ground and how much they've let hackers drive it into the ground, it's the same difficulty as Pink Bean was pre-BB. I just don't get why anybody actually still cares about who kills what first or whether it was legit or not. This is 2012, not 2008.

I miss the days when the worst hackers in the game were simple FM1 spot botting guilds.

Wow, you'd be the last person I would think to reinforce my argument

Not reinforcing anyone's arguments, just stating what I think whether it's similar to anyone else's opinion or not.

I don't play this game anymore, but I still have my reasons for logging in. I just don't understand how anyone can continue to actually purchase NX and support Nexon.

Wow. I had you all wrong, our opinions are pretty much identical believe it or not.

so I come back after like 4 hours and there's three more pages

ahahahahsdkshhdkjdfh oh southperry

Killed; my personal reason of buying NX is because aesthetically I want to look nice (I guess this is a parallel to life? I want to do that too) and better my own equips myself for some more self-entitlement.. indirectly supporting Nexon is something I put in the back of my mind for contemplation later or just not care about it
if I were to stop right now, it would not make any difference to them compared to if I continued, because I am one person
I'm not an avid spender either, I recycle my 90 day covers and maybe 10-15 cubes between for a single character. I have more important things to focus money on, i.e tuition, books, blah

maybe it's because I still enjoy playing and I'm not ready to leave any of it behind.

So for every personal achievement I make with a video game I've beaten without using cheats, codes, etc, I want acknowledgement for? Rolleyes
I don't follow that logic. That's a whole lot of assuming things about me, when you know nothing of me. Praise of men is empty to me, words are fleeting and temporary.

MissingLink Wrote:Curious about this. Did Nexon (Japan) intentionally make her more difficult at some point, or fix something that previously made her too easy (in their opinion)?

I think JMS is a victim of copypasta at some point here.

They probably knew about the bug, then when they went to implement Cygnus, they fixed it themselves. Then, when they were implementing other updates, they accidentally pasted in the broken Cygnus again, thus breaking it when it was originally working. We'll probably have to wait for the DB fix now too, though you'd think it would be a 10 second fix.

Was there a 65x heal limit in KMS as well before they fixed it?

I don't want to spend an hour reading, but I think his main point was "Looking for acknowledgment for this game is dumb because this game sucks and is ruined and any acknowledgment is worthless."

Something to that effect. I find it funny how most arguments about maplestory are from people who quit and want to make everyone else quit.

No, Cygnus was glitched when they first implemented her. When the Japanese players went to kill her, she would kick them out of the map, back to Future Henesys. In a patch or two later, that was fixed and Cygnus became killable.

Didn't expect this to turn into another one of "those threads", but what can you do.

Regardless, same concept. JMS fixed it, then later they screwed it up again.

Actually I've lost interest. I just believe most maplers have hope the game will get better managed eventually. What killed said was what I was trying to get across to all of you, it's a detail that's not only lost it's authority but meaning, it's significance is no longer a community issue, simply a gray scaled personal one.

That's a meaning of perspective. When you were a kid, you looked forward to your birthday and it was a big celebration. For most people, they will outgrow that by the time they're 18 or 21. They will look at their birthday as any other day. But some people still have a big party or have a celebration for every birthday even when they're 30+

When hilla comes out and someone kills it, I will congratulate them on their achievement. Other people might not see it as one but I will. It may not have any meaning to some people but to others it will have meaning. The main point of maple is to have fun and doing things you consider achievements and sharing them with others is human nature. When you got A's as a 3rd grader, you rushed them to your parents to get parental approval. When they gave it, you felt good about yourself. In some cases they were probably just being nice to make yourself feel better but that's what a parent should do. If you got a F, they would cheer you up.

If it weren't for my friends on maple i wouldn't be playing anymore. They're the main reason this game is still fun to me because it gives us something to do together.

I would get my ass whooped if I ever brought home an F.

(IDK about anyone else....but I'm not testing this 65 heal time thing...L> KMS fix)

+1 for getting the ass whooped.

i might try it, i know some people... only thing that deters me from it is that every try is less money for everyone, due to instructor drops split being smaller..

C'mon guys, everyone knows that your own opinion is the only correct one.

Currently on the "most achievements aren't really achievements in this state of the game" opinion.
To each their own.
