Damm these translations. What Sasakibe said in the chapter it happened was "they can use Bankai", now they say here what he said was "they can block Bankai" or something. That changes things as they could still be pure quincys, overpowered but just regular quncys.

Edit: Wait a second. they might not even be quincys. Soul Society is asuming they are because Hollows are vanishing from Hueco Mundo without leaving a trace, but they don't know the Vanderreich is recruiting hollows and taking them to their own dimension which they don't know its location yet. So the only clue to point them as quincys is Ivan's cross so far and then again they could have killed/stolen those from real quincys.

When has the scientist ever been wrong about his "assessments"? Making the quincy's a villain has been overdue imo, but it just feels rushed.

How many times has he worked in analizing an enemy and stuff like these? I think he did it once in Aizen's arc which isn't enough to say he can't be wrong.

Ichigo realizes they are Quincy and apparently because Ichigo is in Hueco Mundo, the Vandereich are going to invade Soul Society early. Pretty cool chapter, especially since we learned Yamato failed to kill the Vandereich leader 1,000 years ago and that Kurotsuchi went ahead to kill 28,000 Rukongai residents to "correct the balance of souls" as the translation I saw read.

Can't wait for next week.

Yea that's what I use. Mangareader takes WAY too long to load on release days.

IDK if you guys read but Manga stream is uploading Jump mangas again, but you have 60 hours from release to read the chapter before its taken down.

One thing that has always bothered me about Bleach and that's shown pretty well in this chapter. Soul Society is supposed to be heaven, hueco mundo purgatory and hell...hell, yet there is poverty, crime, corruption, and well... death for all factions in the manga, but being killed by the same leaders of SS?. Kubo should have let Uryu kill Mayuri with that huge arrow to the knee back in the SS arc.

Now on topic: that thing Mayuri considered as a threat after Uryu's break in SS probably is the ability to manipulate the spiritual energy in which is built Soul Society. I can't see SS winning before getting their ass kicked first.

Maybe it is not but just the idea of having to put up with the same pomegranate from when you were alive, but this time for all eternity and with no chance of getting out of it other than becoming a shinigami seems horrible to me. You'd expect those things from hueco mundo so it makes sense

The idea of a better place after death is a pretty hopeful construct. And people who make it to soul society aren't necessarily good people. They're just people who were still attached to the world and have been saved by a shinigami before their soul chain broke.

I am quite sure that Hueco Mundo is much worse than Soul Society in every objective way unless you're a sociapath or a sadist.

I feel like there's a lot more movement than the last couple of arcs where most of what we got was blankspace for atmosphere. Or maybe I'm just comparing with the other two series. Naruto's been going nowhere since the flashback started.

Yea I agree. We seem to be moving along quite nicely. I was pretty used to giant facial expressions and 3 words per page.

Well, the quincy "Bankai" is actually a pretty double edged sword. Once they activate it, they lose the ability to be able to use their powers for a long time. The Quincy Bankai buffs them to the point where they're well passed captain level though, in terms of reiatsu, raw power, and speed.
