Headphones broke, MS too laggy to get on. Pretty much another Sunday, but this is adding salt into a fresh wound.
Since my family's DirectTv is limited to so much channels thanks to my cheap mom, there will always be a once in a while chance where they give a free trial of another package...
If you know me, I enjoy the old Nick and CN shows, and the occasional MLP:FiM...in this case, that's why I was so aimed at that free trial. When they finally announced it, I was hoping it be during this week...and well, the rest is history.

second post for today :
So right ater lecture i was struggling my way home because the tummy ache was putting a strain on my back and i was very nauseous throughout the journey. I rushed to the clinic after i got home and thankfully it didnt take long because i felt like a zombie. He checked a few symptoms(nausea, tummy ache, gas, poop/pee color, sclera color etc..) he came to a conclusion of gastric flu and liver infection(kid of scary because my cousin recently passed away due to a tumor in the liver(metastatic colon cancer)). In the end he ruled out liver infection because my sclera didnt look yellow(jaundice) and my pee wasn't brown(liver failure). Gave me some meds for the nauseating feeling, tummy ache and fever. I went home and took a nap feeling like a volcano. Now im up feeling alot better but my appetite is still not ok. i could maybe eat a spoonful or two of porridge but i think im just gonna throw it all up... even the thought of food is currently nauseating for me.
What sucks is that i have to stop doxy for a whole week, delaying my course of anti-biotic for acne. ugh. but doxy can also cause stomach upset so he said to make sure my stomach gets better first before fixing my face. On a brighter note though, i rarely get breakouts when im sick so i guess that will maintain the state of which my face is in right now. this is probably the first time since 2008 that my face is pimple-free.

Ok, it seems my usual assumption of genders on the internet has in fact failed me once again.
Three exams to go...

1. No matter how successful you are, change is always good. There can never be a status quo. When you have no money you can't afford long-term solutions, only short-term ones. You have to always be upgrading. Otherwise, you're ****ed.
2. The day you say you have to do something, you're screwed. Because you are going to make a bad deal. You can always recover from the player you didn't sign. You may never recover from the player you signed at the wrong price.
3. Know exactly what every player in baseball is worth to you. You can put a dollar figure on it.
4. Know exactly who you want and go after him. (Never mind who they say they want to trade.)
5. Every deal you do will publicly scrutinized by subjective opinion. If I'm [IBM CEO] Lou Gerstner, I'm not worried that every personnel decision I make is going to wind up on the front page of the business section. Not everyone believes that they know everything about the personal computer. But everyone who ever picked up a bat thinks he knows baseball. To do this well, you have to ignore the newspapers.

I would not have pegged you as a baseball fan.

I'm not. It's a quote from Moneyball (Michael Lewis) from the GM of the Oakland A's, Billy Bean, who approached the game sabermetrically to decide on his trades and picks. The entire book is about how baseball recruitment overvalued certain statistics that turned into a bidding price war on those few qualities. Meanwhile other factors of the game such as on base percentages were largely ignored and undervalued as per status quo, albeit having intrinsic use i.e. wearing down the pitcher, limiting outs, and gradually increasing the prospect of a run.
Moneyball is about a manager who went about breaking down player statistics and started investing in people who were undervalued for possessing talent that wasn't seen as being important in the game and fundamentally created a playoff team at a fraction of the cost of say, the Yankees, who spent a fortune to assemble a playoff team on their roster.
It's a good book. It's about how people think. It's about a flawed status quo. It's cross applicable and you can dream about making millions by finding other flawed systems and milking them for all they are worth.

SO done with high school and the fucking idiots that inhabit it. Enjoy your next six years at community college.
Awaiting financial aid appeal responses from WPI/RPI before I make my decision.
Hoping that the cost/year will be:
<$35 for WPI or <$30 for RPI
If neither meet their goal, I'll have to go to UAlbany. They still have a great Physics program, but I would much much much much rather go to a private school.
Also, goddamn connections to admissions officers so they give you way more aid in scholarships. sajgfshgagb you don't deserve a full ride just because your father is an alum and bff with the admissions officer
I went to a local meeting of potential WPI students on Sunday and I was the least socially awkward kid by far (and best looking guy imo ), yet I got the least $ in scholarships out of everyone I talked to.
If I was female my scholarship would have doubled/tripled. I had way better academic/extracurricular achievements than everyone else I/my father talked to.
--------------------------------------------------------
It was her birthday today.
I can't tell if she's giving me any signs, and I kinda don't really want to start anything with college coming up and asdasidfhg.
If I go to WPI we'd be within an hour and it MIGHT be manageable, but I feel like it wouldn't work out very well because it IS college...
and it doesn't help that I wouldn't have my own car (or license, but I plan on getting that this summer) to drive to Boston
and I'm kinda weird so idk if I'm her type or w/e asighgs
pineapple it, I'll just go gay. (jklolol)

Baked in the sun because one of my teachers decided it was a "great day to have class outside". Note: Calculus is not fun outdoors. When I finally get home, it turns out the AC's busted. It was definitely one of the more arduous days in my book.

Today was great.
I feel healthy, I feel happy, I feel terrific. (A little saying I'm going to start repeating to myself in order to prepare for the POSITIVE ATTITUDE I WILL BE EXUDING FROM ALL PORES this summer.)

The only problem is that you shouldn't publish your book.

With respect to the reliance on sabermetrics, people were getting to know what was up. Boston Red Sox's assistant GM Theo Epstein had Billy Beane on his radar since he began employing the statistical criteria. The book could have served as a small time catalyst, but we're talking about a couple of months to a year before people wised up.
People are without a doubt stupid when it comes to certain things, but they are not that stupid. To take an example I noticed, when laptops were transitioning from 2 gig RAM to 4 gig RAM by HP and most other distributors in retail stores, the distributors continued running Windows Vista OS 32 bit which clipped off RAM usage at 3.6 gig RAM which meant that laptops essentially wasted .4 gig RAM. So it was stupid. People were buying excessive RAM that wouldn't be used because their OS limited them. However, market forces eventually rectified this blunder as Windows 7 32 bit raised the benchmark yet again for how much RAM the software could use effectively.
People are stupid. But people aren't that stupid. Especially people who want to win. There is a limit to how stupid they can be and still keep their jobs.
