Tales of Graces F
Double-post for new DLC!

This shipment includes 5 costumes (Some kind of Arabian Knight for Asbel, a Devil outfit for Cheria, a Cowgirl outfit for Pascal, and Samurai garb for Malik), and three sets of add-ons (bunny ears/tail, and some other stuff). No Miku outfit yet Sad

I don't usually buy this kind of stuff, but I figure it supports those Tales guys and I felt like splurging on something.

I am still waiting on Haseo :<

Yeah the Haseo outfit is the only one I'm going to bother buying for Asbel.....that devil Cheria outfit is god damn tempting, though.

Went ahead and got Cheria's Imp outfit, along with the Mini-Sophie and the Cat Set. Next items on the agenda are probably Malik's Samurai outfit and Pascal's Skimpy Cowgirl outfit.

Woo! Friend came over and I finally got to dual-human play for a while. We killed Rockgagong, Solomus and then attempted Lambda Theos (Hard) and got buttDESTROYED. So I think I'll be saving him for New Game+. Don't wanna screw up my Lambda Angelus (Chaos) kill. 'Cause I assume they conflict or w/e for factoring Grade.

And by accessing Floor 10, I had to learn about Extracting... FINALLY understand where GEMS come from. I was starting to really wonder. lol But now there's a whole new world of equips for me to unlock and work for... So much complexity.

Gentleman is next on my hit list now. Should be able to finish with my newfound upgrading/extracting knowledge.

How many non-DLC costumes are there in the game? It's not just two (swimsuit + something else) right?

According to the JP Wiki, it is true that your NG+ Grade will use the last final boss clear, rather than the highest difficultly clear. Interesting.

There's a sidequest in Yu Liberte where you can pay a fee and wait time (and some food to reduce this time) to upgrade a gem. It gets ridiculously expensive later on, but it's useful for bringing up low level gems for attributes you don't have many shards for or whatnot.
Speed [☆] on Sophie is fun :3

I literally never Dualized weapons past putting one random shard on them for some easy Quality requests. I never once upgraded any of my gear throughout the game (haven't done Future Arc yet). I never even knew about Extracting until I had to make something really valuable for Floor 10. I always just thought it was something I would experiment with and work on in New Game+.

Why'd you wait so long? You get lots of shards, and the game keeps telling you about all the amazing things you can do with it. Also, the game tells you (and you can look up later in the library) that you can dualize two upgraded weapons/armor to extract a shard that anyone can use. That's nearly verbatim. Really, dualize more. Lots more.

Dualizing is good if you don't plan on NG+ anytime soon, since you can't carry over your weapons.

Why bother when I just lose it going to New Game+? That's when I do end-game gear forging/hunting. And once I saw the whole Quality thing, I worried about using up any shards in case I needed them to help with requests. I'm like that. Plus, I've already defeated every boss except Lambda Theos and Gentleman. The former I'm definitely not worrying about until NG+, and I doubt the latter will give me much trouble. I'm not following you! I'm still on my first playthrough.

One of the biggest incentives is the sheer amount of time to level up a weapon, and another is to spend Shards so you have a higher chance to get more. The chance to obtain Shards as you possess more becomes lower. At 100 Shards, the drop rate is halved, at 150, it is halved again, and apparently at 190 you just don't get any more. I believe it's also more difficult to get the same attribute if you possess a lot of it as well. Level differences and difficulty also affect drop rates up to 50% and 40% respectively.

You can make a Long Sword from the start of the game with good Quality and then Dualize it to make a Disintegrator to keep the upgrades, etc, though this would be more useful at a NG+ since you'll be able to inherit a stockpile with good qualities and levels already, as well as unlock Rank 7 Qualities.
Reply
So...would the best case be to do a 2nd NG+ and then start going "Ultimate Weapon" status right off the bat, since you unlock the "Rank 7" stuff from the 1st NG+?

Gotta get that +99 weapon, somehow!

I'm frustrated. I am on the very LAST Inn Request. Was getting all pumped to finally meet Gentleman. But I need a Gallant Shard to finish... Kind of annoying, but no big deal, right? So I looked up where to farm for that quality and everything is a LIE.

Is there any ACCURATE information for Shard farming online? I've already found several qualities that don't match with the multiple sources I've come across. And after hours of farming, I have yet to find a Gallant quality shard in Zhonecage Floor 2 or Ghardia Shaft (Depths). It supposedly drops there, but since I've found things that aren't supposed to be dropping there, I have massive doubts.

"Guides" aside, does anyone PERSONALLY know/remember where they found a Gallant shard? I want this to be over and misinformation really annoys me.

---

Edit: Well I finally found a Gallant shard. From the Ghardia Shaft (Depths). Guess I just had to be really stubborn. Found like...10 each of Perilous and Noble, among others. Gave up on Zhonecage Floor 2 because I kept getting Haughty, which supposedly doesn't even drop there (just like Noble in Depths). Great information out there!

 Spoiler

Been trying to get that last Costume title from the Carta game. Any tips on perfecting Hard? I can't pull it off, did around 30-40 this morning before giving up. Best I've done so far was keeping him from getting to 100 points before I win... Usually he's in the 200's when I win. He even still beats me sometimes. I really don't see how it's possible without god-tier luck. Is that the secret...? Keep trying until I get a perfect scenario or something? It's ridiculous.

I think I'm finally gonna do the Future Arc tomorrow, too. Then it's time for New Game+ final preparations.

Take a picture of the card layout just as the game starts. Pause the game the moment the chatbox with the quote appears, and match the quote to its card. Locate the card in the picture you took, then unpause and go straight for the card. May take a few tries even with this, but it's not impossible (I did it on my 4th try or so).

Future Arc is awesome. I truly think the Lastalia Shaft Depths are my favorite area in any video game I've ever played... Just something about them. The sense of such surreal, empty beauty factored in with that lovely music with a hint of dread. It's wonderful. I went through it several times just to enjoy it over and over (and get materials for lookalike titles lol). Certainly lived up to my expectations. Hilarious skits, great new areas (Arcadia Garden was amazing, too), superior villain/final boss, nice extra additions (like Accel Mode and titles). I greatly look forward to finding my last Zhonecage items with my new power.

One question, though, since I've found many conflicting answers elsewhere: Does the difficulty you clear Fodra Queen on affect the Grade score for New Game+? The main answer I see--and what I want to believe--is that it doesn't and only what you last cleared Lambda on matters. But a few people claim their score was altered because they defeated Fodra Queen on a lower difficulty. This is important to me because there's no way I can beat her on Chaos like I did with Lambda.

And I really want to defeat her so I can see the ending and continue working on Zhonecage items/NG+ preps.

JP Guide says maybe. Fodra Queen on Chaos is definitely easier than Lambda Theo, unless you infinite combo him though. You can just rerun Future Arc after you've grinded some in Zhonecage too.

Arcadia Garden was a nightmare. I spent two hours running around in circles because I couldn't understand what it was I was trying to accomplish.

For anyone playing with another person, have they gotten the "use x character 100 times" titles playing as not-Player 1? =S I got to Zahvert with my friend and I still don't have that title for Pascal, which is to say no Recovery and no Charge+ =[

You were supposed to follow the butterflies.

There's this map someone uploaded online that shows every portal though...

Some things that were quite obvious and available the first week of release in Japanese.
