Dash or Flash fist
#1
Guys I reached level 20 with my brawler to be, sommersalute in max, there are some points in dash flash fist and bullet time. Now I'm in a dilemma; What should I max? I know that bullet time should be maxed, so the choice is between Flash fist and Dash. One friend of mine says that I should pick Dash since flash fist is useless once you're past 4x or so, and the other says that I should max Flash Fist since Dash isn't used much in 2nd job and on. What should I pick?
Thanks in advance, Roy.

When your level 30 here is what your SP should look like:

Bullet Time: 20 max
Flash Fist: 20 max
Somersault Kick: 20 max
Double Shot: 1 point
Dash: 0

Seriously Dash is bad for Brawlers even a lot of Gunslingers hate that they have it as it goes off when they don't want it to and its pretty much only useful for getting around town.

Flash Fist is a great skill. Very strong and very quick. Somersault kick is not good or fast for single target enemies. You don't always have mobs in front of you. Plus you wont be getting any new attacking skills till the late 40s.

actually, when you get lvl 1 screw punch, you'll almost always have a nice mob in front of u.

Roy, I listened to Teck and just maxed Dash. I havn't been training with FF and I like the extra speed. Lvl 11 is fine until I get Double upper at least for me. And its not like flash jump where you'll be lunged into a boss, It's just a speed and jump boost.

I posted this on a thread EXACTLY like this on sleepywood, so I'll just repost it.

ShiKage Wrote:I've been getting a lot of people asking me about maxing Dash instead of Flash Fists lately because they think Flash Fist is out weighed to by 2nd job mobbing skills. The answer is NO! You do NOT want not max Flash Fist. You will use ALL (EVERY SINGLE) attacking skill until you reach 120. Yeah, it's a lot, but you'll NEED to use all of your skills as effectively as you can until you reach 120.

shikage Wrote:I thought, too, that Straight was useless until I hit 80. Then when I started using it, my damage per minute and my experience per minute sky-rocketed. It matters in the later levels more than anything. If you don't max it, it's wortless, meaning you'll level slower than the rest.

Did I explain it enough there? If you want to see it in action, I can do a live broadcast on my Viper to show you how it works in third job.

EDIT : If you don't max it, you'll be training like I did in this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lnbcxbedy_w (which is not fun)

Im confused, do you max dash or flash fist?

Definitely max Flash Fist. No Dash. Dash screws up when you want to use backspin. Flash Fist is very strong, and I find myself using it all the time in CPQ.

i have flash fist and I use it ALOT. Even when I maxed out double upper I still used it. Double upper has like a 2 second cooldown after you use it, so you can't sit and spam it. Flash fist is good for the in between time.

Since I just got to lvl 70, i'm not sure useful it is in 3rd job. I'll update again after I get in some training time.

I plan on maxing both, letting Oak Barrel and MP recovery stay at level 1. Until then, Dash stays at 1 Smile

Flash Fist. Level 1 Dash is enough.

Actually, level 1 Dash to me is worse than having no Dash at all. I accidentally activate Dash often during training, and I find it annoying to waste 14 MP just because I tapped the arrow key twice.

Bullet Time always comes first even if you're brawler coz you need that accuracy quite badly coz you'll be missing fairly often on certain mobs. Next, Flash fist acts like a powerful version of a Power strike thus it's needed for soloing mobs until you get double uppercut. Seriously, dash is not needed for Brawler coz it's only usefullness lies in travelling.

Dash > Flash Fist. I used a spear throughout first job because Sommersault Kick damage formula is based solely on stabs. I do more damage with my Sommersault Kicks to a mob of 6 than knuckle users with Flash Fist. xD I only got 1 Flash Fist because the job advancement requires that the Octopuses be killed by Flash Fist.

You should have 11 FF when at level thirty even if you maxed Dash.

I maxed dash, as I did the same thing he did. I lvled with a high wep atk spear and somersault kick. I realize I might need it later on and I'm debating weather to sacrifice some mp recovery to finish maxing flash fist. Any insight into weather I should do this?

Lol, yea I kinda realized Ima need Flash Fists later so I'm not sure what to do now. If I have the NX later On I might reset the 9 points, but if I don't I guess I'll sacrifice MP recovery for maxing FF later. I think that's the best i can do with my predicament.

Or you could just do what i was thinking of doing, and using points from MP recovery. To me, spending extra money on MP pots is better then buying resets. And i had been thinking of sacing MP recovery for Dash, but i ended up oping for the no dash build.

MP recovery is 100% useless in GMS, since our HP pots and MP pots both have a 1mesos/1point ratio. It's a waste of 10 point to be honest. I would put those points into oak barrel instead of mp recovery.
