Yea, I guess it was kind of nice that they breezed this competition, but it was still very boring in my point of view. One chapter a week just doesn't satisfy me these days

Chapter also built up sympathy from the crowd. so they have at least some fans now versus "LOL wut a bunch of losers"

Getting motion sick is pretty much a gag weakness that has no real value in most fights in the series, though. I think the only fight that ever really made use of his motion sickness was way back in the Tower of Heaven arc when the owl guy (Fukuro, right?) picked Natsu up and fly him around with his jetpack.

I thought it was nice that it at least felt like a victory in some way after winning some points and the speech. It found the speech refreshing because it at least justifies that it shouldn't really be all about being number one for the sake of looking like the strongest in comparison. And yeah, getting some sympathy from the crowd was nice.

The whole point of that gag is to put hilarity into the chapters. Even when its brought up in an actual fight its meant to be hilarious. This chapter tried to be funny and charming and it was.

Besides, the next chapter battles will probably be rushed up to Erza vs Baachus, so no need to be impatient.

I'm in agreement with you on this chapter being a waste.

I first started this chapter already thinking "Did I miss a chapter"? Then Mashima just breeze through it. It's like he's giving up on doing the interesting challenges/battles and wants to skip to the standard 1v1 common place battles. This transportation weakness also feels like it was pulled for thin air while simultaneously stealing Natsu's one unique trait away from him.

Also the usual friendship speech with the cliche "bonds are trash" response which will just fuel FT's win.

The only real positive thing to come out of this chapter was FT swaying the crowd which we all knew was going to happen anyway.

And to be fair, she is a support character. It wouldn't be weird for her to have magic that fixes it.

There was a part in the anime where they were traveling on a boat or something and Wendy used her magic to make Natsu fine. If I wasn't lazy I would of looked it up for you.

So either he developed it somehow, thus possibly making Wendy vulnerable too (maybe not now, but later). Or he has NEVER used ANY transport medium and Wendy is just unaffected by this somehow.
Either way, I think (and hope) this is going to be somehow relevant to the story.

I read that as support character: as in not one of the main characters. Misinterpretation I guess.

Well I didn't expect that. Hopefully Elfman got strong enough to at least put a good fight against Bacchus. I'd like to see a fight like those in the martial art tournaments from DragonBall, with people disappearing, reappearing on the sky, sound shocks every where and someone on the terraces spilling ice cream on someone's head while watching astonished, then they take a rest and everyone starts screaming.

Oh and I felt bad for Flare.
