I think that they should get the 25% reduction so that they'd be easier to obtain for archmages. Most archmages do not have elemental weapons. Also, why does everyone keep assuming that genesis 30 is an absolute requirement? Genesis level 20 and below is perfectly good for training.

They may be easier to obtain for Arch Mages if Bishops get the deduction but who ever said that these Element Weapons were meant for Arch Mages only? I don't remember Nexon ever saying that. I think that any Arch Mage that can afford a 130 Element Wand probably has one already...
Genesis 30 isn't a requirement, but it means we can perfect 1hit skeles much sooner. Even with an Element Wand and Max Genesis, Arch Mages can still perfect 1hit before most Bishops. Plus, when Dukus come out the Arch Mages won't complain anymore...
In the end, the only disadvantages I see here is that Arch Mages don't have HS but there's so many Bishops these days that getting the buff during training should be a simple task. Plus, Arch Mages pay double the MP but their attacks are still stronger. They can dominate almost any map whereas Bishops have only Skelegons.

It's all true, but like I said earlier, I'd rather see the class that makes the most use of the weapon be given the weapon just like NLs get apples during boss runs. due to alchemist + they get the biggest boost from it.
Each class is going to complain though regardless. Archmages get a boost, bishops complain. Bishops get a boost, archmages complain. I just would like to see archmages being able to get these weapons before bishops, especially bishops that buy fire/ice ones while archmages are stuck with poison/lightning ones. That extra boost means a lot while for a bishop, it's a maximum of 10~13 possible magic.

The element wands affect Luckless Bishops a lot more than you might think. A decently scrolled level 64 Maple Weapon is about 120 m.att. With a decent clean Element Wand, it can be a 25 magic boost. And if scrolled well, it can be even better up to 50 or higher magic increase. That means we can possibly perfect 1hit Skeles 10 levels sooner which is a significant increase in our leveling speed.

That extra boost means a lot while for a bishop, it's a maximum of 10~13 possible magic. That maximum is about 30~50... which isn't as significant as 1.25x, but is still significant, nonetheless. That's about the deciding factor between 2hit skeles and 1hit skeles, by several levels.
And if a Bishop were smart, they'd go for poison before thunder, before fire, and before ice.
Poison wand is the least bought, thus, the best choice. Lightning as well (second best choice). The reason for this is regardless of poison/thunder, an archmage is still not going to deal significant damage on a boss, unless they're soloing, in which the 13.6% extra damage (compared to the fire/ice counterpart) is not going to save more than 10 minutes soloing pap/pianus. Unless you boss often, you would not buy these wands before you buy a fire/ice wand.
The ones that go for the fire or ice are usually the ones that prefer the color of it. I don't know of many bishops (lolAcreate) that are willing to spend that extra meso for the color change.
Thus, if an archmage really wanted faster training, they would just buy a fire or ice wand. The bishops aren't hogging those at all, so I don't see the basis for your statement. Don't post blindly.

I wish people wouldnt think this way. Even right now at level 172 I have 1279 magic attack when buffed. With genesis 20 I still have a minimum damage of about 76k, which is far away from reaching the goal of one hitting skelegons or newties which i still hit low to mid 50k. So In my opinion genesis 30 would be an absolute requirement if I dont want to get bored out of my gourd while training. Without gen 30 The 25-35 extra magic attack from the elemental wands would lower the need for me to get gen 30 as the one hits would occur more often.
While I agree that nerfing the holy damage would make them more available to archmages, it is the archmages that get the greatest advantage from it. 15-25% more damage is absolutely greater than 20-30 extra magic attack.

Lol. I spent only 700mil on my 148/3 Fire Wand, plus the cost of scrolls. Nice deal much ? Besides, if I had a choice, I'm much rather go for a Blue Wand .
And Perfect 1 Hit Skeles is super boring too. I'm always watching youtube while I train.

You're still gonna 2hko pretty often and the spawn isn't gonna reset that fast for you making it not much of a difference.
@Harrisonized: I'm not complaining about it, just expressing my opinion over the situation. If I really wanted to buy one, i can. I'm clearly not a damage whore atm as I still have my level 1 meteo at 15x. I just feel archmages should get priority over bishops to the weapons, especially ice/fire ones as they get a much bigger boost while most bishops can still effectively train, exp wise and cost efficient wise without them.
Besides, Nexon is Nexon. Korea Nexon and Japan Nexon both made them have the reduction. I don't see much of a reason why Global should be different or rather the diff versions should have a lot of differences.

Actually it would make quite a difference. If I can get my hands on over 30-35 extra matk, that would raise my Matk to over 131x-132x and would raise the percentage of one hits to about 75-80% even with gen 20.
And about the priority issuse, who died and made you boss of maple story. If you want priority, log a ticket to nexon, and forced-ly make them change the coding to make holy damage weaker with them.
Anyway, me having genesis 30 would make this entire post moot to begin with so B> gen 30 pl0x

I'm pretty sure in JMS they have 125% exp rates and half the pot costs. Do you think we're going to have this implemented? You think that Zakum Helmet 1 and Horntail Cave usage should be removed? The fact is that just because the different versions of MS are run by Nexon doesn't mean that they should be / are the same.
And yay for the Patch not making Element Wands give a reduction in holy damage <3.

Instead of being so defesnive, that's just what I feel should be the case. Not like i'm stuffing it down your fucking throat. Do I really care what happens in the end? No. Would I like it if it had reduction? Yes. Am I gonna piss and moan that I didn't get my way? pineapple no.

Quite honestly I couldnt give a rats ass if they did implement it or not. Quite actually I would also prefer they implement the negative 25% to holy damage, as not only would it drive up the value of my current weapon dramatically, it would also mean I would get more training partners, and less competition from other bishops that simply have more money than I do.
Im not being defensive, Im just inquizitive[sp] which is why Im only asking if anyone might know any info on the matter. This whole thread is just to simply find out if you think they will, not if you care about it or not.

So if I got my ice mage an ice wand, it would take damage off Ifrit?
And what difference would it make if a bishop wielded a fire over ice wand?

The elemental weapons do not affect the arch mages summons.
If both fire and ice wands were exactly the same stats then it would make no difference what so ever to a bishop.

I keep telling people that all the time Genesis 30 isn't needed if you can afford an elemental wand which gives u 100% chance instead of wasting money on a 50% chance book. I'm still using genesis 20 and works out okay for me.The only reason to get genesis book and say that it works great is if your very low level
like 13x or so o.o;;
Oh and to be honest if mages aren't happy with the elemental wands shouldn't bishop complain about not having a holy elemental wand too?
And shouldn't warriors complain about now having a lvl 13x sword?
Fact is someone will always complain but I think Nexon did the right thing in favor of both mages and bishops.

Ima get flamed for this post, since every time i mention it on buddylist even i get flamed
Elemental weapons are supposed to level the playing field between bishops and archmages, as previously stated
Bishop's genesis is slightly weaker with amp, but not much.
Bishops however get skeles, which is a +50%, Amp is only +35%
Elemental weapons push archmages slightly over bishops (168% vs 150%)
However, this is where my reasoning for why i think the nerfing for bishops SHOULD come into play
A. Bishops gen is slightly faster. not quite as strong of a reason, but it does help them.
B. Gen is half the cost. Yeah, yeah, someone will tell me to reset amp. I say a mage without amp is lol. Also, you gift me 300k NX to reset it and ill think about it. The other response i usually get is people telling me to stfu and stop being emo over it. neither are very good defenses imo.
I'd also like to point out that this is a glitch (based on other versions remember). Remember the bigfoot glitch? Remember all the f/p that got banned from it? The monster itself was in the data as a non-boss, all the f/p were doing was using a skill that has been in the game since almost the beginning (Brace/Mist).
F/P: Banned.
Bishops: Not Banned.

Also as you mentioned, Gen has higher base damage so you need something like level 18 amp just to be doing as much damage (and it costs 1.6x as much or something). It's just not logical how they have these skills set up

Whatever. Just be glad these weapons exist.
And about the BF Banning, it was based on leveling speed. I know some people who were banned and have never stepped foot in Masteria (on the banned character anyway).

The speed difference is insignifcant. When both are OHKO-ing, there is at least a second or two before monsters respawn, thus the speed different means nothing.
Yeah Gen is half the cost but that's because it's weaker and the skill book for Gen30 is nearly 4x the cost of Blizzard 30 (and like 15x the cost of Meteo30). I lost 600m when I failed Gen30 twice, and 300m per book was a bargain. That's already a lot more than what Arch Mages spend due to the double MP cost.
Arch Mages and their elemental wands can easily hit over 90k on any neutral monster on the game. Bishops only have better damage at skeles. However, Skelegons are not end-game training grounds. I've heard that OHKO-ing Newties is faster than Skeles, and Arch Mages are very capable of OHKO-ing Jr. Newties as early as level 14x. Once we get Dukus, Arch Mages will be training a lot faster than Bishops.
Adding Holy reduction doesn't do anything for Arch Mages. The price isn't going to plunge like everyone thinks it will. These weapons give Arch Mages over 50 levels worth of power. They're end-game weapons without a doubt, thus they're not going to be dirt cheap either way. Rarity? These weapons are surprisingly common for how broken they are. Even Doomsday Staves are rarer.
As for Bigfoot, that's still debatable. It's quite obvious that it wasn't intended to be abused like that. And guess what? A lot of Bishops got banned, when Bigfoot glitchers were banned, for selling leech.
