Transforming NPC's?

While doing Nautilus quests, I saw something weird.
When I gave Abel his glasses, There was an animation of him putting the glasses on looking all cool, But then he changed back to normal for some reason. Same thing happened when I gave the prince of the Whalians an MP Elixir. He changed to a human, And then back to normal. I have a feeling I'll have the same thing with the one trying to block the hole in the ship.
Has anyone else noticed this? It's the first time I've heard of this feature, And I wonder why the NPC's won't stay in their new state.

Well if they did then it would take up too much space for each individual Mapler to have the NPC look or not look like the new thing so its easier just to have a short animation play

Yeah, it's a funny feature. Hopefully they will apply this with future NPCs aswell.

If you were doing the Mano quest, and gave the shell to Pita (which I bet you guys wouldn't do), she turns into a snail, and looked like she'd been high on drugs (stoned).

I got a good laugh out of that. ;D

It takes more space to have each Mapler's keyset and yet they do it.

Well then I guess its that general thing <_< its just a short animation each time =\ but its easier to make it that way than to make it stay that way since it would have to be on a player to player basis for every quest that it does that with >_>

Yeah, Abel looks super-strong (if I remember correctly) and Sharyl turns human.

The 'snowman' quest from a while back in El Nath had a transforming npc (the ice statue).

The effects were probably just for kicks. I got lols.

Pia turns into a red snail when you give her the Rainbow colored shell from Mano.

Do the Snowman quest, and the shattered Ice Pieces turn into some type of goddess thing.

im talking about the functions that lets npcs have two different forms.

Do the Snowman quest, and the shattered Ice Pieces turn into some type of goddess thing.

Doing that quest was the first time i noticed this effect.

Oh em gee, when I did the quest, Pia didn't transform.
And don't forget Calico. He kind of wakes up after you give him the Evil Eye Tails.

And yeah, I think most/all of the boss NPC's do that.[/SIZE]
