Cheria's is in Sable Izore, at the Item Shop, you have to pay 10k to buy it.
Princess Stories is in Barona's inn, top floor right room closet. I said hints/general areas >.> Thanks anyway I guess. Also...
And yeah, it is 100k. I don't have that much -- I just spent a bunch buying Asbel's damn sword. It's not even very good because I can't upgrade it yet.
Whoops, double post. Damn firefox lied to me.

Oh sorry. There's like absolutely no way to find them in my opinion if you don't know to check random ass pomegranate though. If I had just said Oul Raye, would you have been able to find that?

If I had just said Oul Raye, would you have been able to find that? I probably would have systematically rubbed against everything and talked to everyone until I found it. Not much difference then, I suppose, I just would have *felt* like I found it somewhat of my own accord. The Cheria one probably would have taken me longer though. I usually do check random-ass pomegranate, I just didn't check the right random-ass pomegranate, it seems.

Welp, heading back to Lhant Hill at the start of Chapter 3. I am loving Concussive Bolt so much.

I think I've finally found my problem with the battle system. A-Artes. Like, in general. They're terrible. I hate the A-Arte tree. I hate how you have to activate others before you can use a certain one. All this time I thought it was the CC, and it's not even! A-Artes are just ass. Using just one chain costs so much that you can't make any fluid combat. This is my problem. I kept trying to create flow by mixing them in (playing Asbel)... Past couple days I've switched my focus entirely to B-Arte spam and combat has become SO much more fun and effective.
The only character with good, fluid A-Arte action is Hubert... His is what I kept thinking Asbel's would be like. I'm glad I finally moved past this misconception.
I love, LOVE Pascal, but I don't like playing as her. lol She's my only permanent member. Can't be without her. Cheria too...but I have to intensely babysit her. Always yelling at her to use certain spells. Still a much better healer than Sophie. Malik's alright, not one of my favorites. It's so weird that he's the power caster...
Concussive Bolt is the greatest! That's like my most spammed move, I think. I also really like Infernal Torrent for facing other humans.

If I'm ever in a Human-heavy area, I just equip my Knightmare title if I'm not currently leveling anything else. The increased Crit rate is really useful if you have some of Asbel's "recover HP on critical attack" skills (I think the skill was Tension).

I've always found Asbel's A-Artes much more fluid than Hubert's. The only combination that I find exceptionally fluid on Hubert is Tiger Blade -> Dual Shredder -> Falling Star/Mega Sonic Thrust, and Hubert's CC pool is the lowest in the game.
I always liked Moonlight Circle as crowd control over Concussive Bolt, almost exclusively because of the hits rather than damage, especially since it alters into Infernal Torrent, and I used Phantasm Flash for Nova until I got Incineration Wave. I was never a fan of Concussive Bolt, but it's a shame that the only other Paralysis is Plasma Shock, which was a ways away from what I recall.
I actually really like Sparrow Seal, just never found Plasma Shock to be excessively useful, let alone alter into it to be that good.
Does anyone really use Altered Artes? At the end of the game, I usually only had Incineration Wave, Aurora Lotus, Infernal Torrent, and Shattersteel Swarm, of which only Infernal Torrent could be altered =S and my right joystick was shortcuts for spells

It takes too long to cast. I usually just spam Blood Flamme because one of its passive upgrades grants a % chance to cast it immediately.
I almost exclusively play Sophie, by the way, so I pretty much only have 1 healer in the party since I don't heal unless I have no choice but to.
JoeTang Wrote:New Tip: Sophie has a hidden mystic arte. You activate it by using Deadly Force, and then go from 1 CC to 3 CC Assault Artes (maybe 4?) and hold down X as you're finishing. It's not as strong as Critical Blade, but it can be used multiple times per battle. It's really hard to pull off though.
Fire Dragon Rampage is a reference to Farah's Flame Dance in Tales of Eternia (the Japanese name's the same, by the way; karyuuenbu). It has pretty much the exact same requirements; Farah needed to successfully cast Deadly Force, then pull off a combo and hit the MA button. Tales of Eternia players probably figured it out after realising that Sophie's fighting style is similar to Farah's, and that Sophie has Deadly Force...
Anyway, yeah it's really hard to pull off. The lighting always seems to go back to normal before I can pull it off. So far I've only successfully used it twice across 3 playthroughs.
There's an (somewhat) easier way to do it though; use an hourglass in lieu of casting Deadly Force.
By the way, most "fun" boss ever:

I gotta admit, the comments are hilarious.

About halfway through my second run now. Going for a 100% playthrough this time. Expecting some trouble since I could only afford 2x exp, so leveling later will become an issue. Been playing exclusively on Chaos. Almost maxed out all of my title and I'm only at Mt. Zavhert, and I have over 100 for everyone. 6x SP on Chaos is insane.

lol wow. Had to hop on my computer because I got utterly frustrated at these freakin' HIDE AND SEEK children. Spent the past hour...or more? going through every single INCH of Wallbridge with my OCD set to maximum. Had no trouble finding 6 of them, but no matter how hard I searched, the last two evaded me... SO HERE I AM, ADMITTING FULL DEFEAT. LOOKING THE ANSWER UP LIKE A LOSER.
And then I find out they're behind the .......... guard.
I mad. SO MAD.
I talked to him several times! I didn't know you had to talk to him ONE MILLION TIMES.
HIDE AND SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK

I've been doing sidequests galore tonight and getting everything I missed. The SP for all of these adds up pretty dang quickly, so it's pretty rewarding.
EDIT: Trying to do the hard mode carta mini-game. This is complete BS. How the hell am I expected to win when the NPC moves before they're even done talking and has pin-point accuracy with the cursor? Can't say how many times I've missed points because I hit the wrong card when the correct one is covered by 2 or 3 others. kasofkasas this costume's going to be a pain...

Some of these usage titles are unrealistically high. Even the ones that master at ~250 are way too high considering how slowly they cast.

Yeah having to sit here and spam artes for titles is starting to get very mundane and boring. Some of these moves suck complete ass, too, so I'd never realistically naturally use them 600+ times. It makes no sense, at all.

Well, I think I'll just save myself the trouble of looking the arte related titles up and I'll just write them down :I

Does anyone like playing as Richard? Because I spent the first area playing as him and I just can't stand it.

I am happy at the possibility of a Xillia localisation, but I hope they address a few of the issues that left it feeling so incomplete for a lot of people.

Well, it was mostly technical issues and the final dungeon/ending.
The game was semi-rushed in order to meet the deadline Namco Bandai had set down, since this game was to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Tales series.
