Seems like it's just people taking advantage of some bad wording. Like someone else said, adding a simple "ing" to the end of both of those would solve the problem.

But a good clue to take into account is this: If he were actually selling all of that for 1 meso, why is none of it purchased?

I do have a question about it though: If they have nothing in Selling, does it auto default to Buying? Then it really is a decent scam, because someone who's not paying complete attention could get screwed.

If people coming to your store to ask things like "HOW MUCH IS THAT?!" wasn't enough proof that a lot of players just don't bother to read. :S

Also, isn't it just obvious that things for sale at 1 meso are just scams / people with max mesos trying to show off?
Especially when none of them are bought. :x

Dupers put items in their shop for 1 meso all the time while duping.

Also, people tend to be too overwhelmed with hope when they see a 1 meso item to question any ulterior motives behind the activity.
