15 hours in now and...
Also, Malik is a mindffff for me. Ranged attacker/caster that has meatshield hp and armor. WHAT. Though i realize i should be throwing B artes into combos. his stats keep making me think A-artes. On top of that. its hard to learn characters when fights only last 20-30 seconds.

What's your difficulty set at? I'd recommend hard if you're not already. If you are... then do the arena? I'm noticing that even on hard fights aren't lasting that long, except that bosses are a good deal harder. Perhaps do Evil for most things and Hard for bosses?

I hadn't tried hard yet. highest i went was moderate. I was worried about a ToS style 'everything does 3x more damage' massacre of my AI chars.
Is there more SP/Gald per battle at higher difficulty in addition to the drop rate upgrades?

You get far more SP, at the very least. I don't think you get extra gald.

You do actually get a little bit more gald, more/better drops, and as Justin said, much more SP. And yeah, it's not like ToS, TotA, or ToV where the higher difficulties aren't really meant to be played on the first time through. Moderate can easily be played by anyone, I think, and Hard is quite a challenge, but still doable. You might need to grind for a while before your next boss though, since you'll have less SP than you would have if you had been playing Hard the whole time. Also, learn to save often. I can't tell you how many times I was drudging through enemies that were only slightly difficult, then one pack of them gets lucky and knocks out several of my guys. As far as I know, there's no way to run, so I just take the lost time on the chin.

You can run. Just keep running into the battle field's outer wall. A bar will fill and you'll run when it's filled.

I just used some random monster's data and checked it across several difficulties.

Ah yes, that would have been good to know. Thanks. According to the Japanese Wiki, based on % it's
| Easy | Normal | Moderate | Hard | Evil | Chaos |
|---|
| LV | 80 | 100 | 110 | 120 | 130 | 150 | | HP | 80 | 100 | 125 | 180 | 240 | 300 | | P.ATK/DEF | 70 | 100 | 110 | 130 | 160 | 200 | | C.ATK/DEF | 70 | 100 | 110 | 130 | 160 | 200 | | ACC | 80 | 100 | 130 | 150 | 180 | 250 | | EVA | 80 | 100 | 110 | 125 | 140 | 150 | | Cast Time | 200 | 100 | 90 | 70 | 60 | 50 | | Movement Delay | 200 | 100 | 90 | 70 | 60 | 50 | | Gald | 100 | 100 | 100 | 120 | 130 | 150 | | SP | 50 | 100 | 120 | 150 | 200 | 300 |
Though there could be slight differences.
There's also a bonus to Bonus SP awarded, as well as the maximum hits that affect Bonus SP.
| Easy | Normal | Moderate | Hard | Evil | Chaos |
|---|
| SP % | 0 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | | Hit Limit | 0 | 75 | 100 | 125 | 150 | 201? |
Bonus SP = SP% * Max Hits

Getting some of these "Kill x in 60 seconds" trophies are going to be a pain without 10x exp / 6x SP. I've gotten them all up to the desert so far, but we'll see how it goes for the rest... Especially K...yeah, you know who.

Okay, i went through the game's help menus and it didn't explain.
Whats the point of accuracy/evasion in this game? I mean, in a game where actual contacts determines hits and misses i don't get it... is it just additional damage reduction?
I didn't even get its effect in Symphonia way back LOL.

Supposedly they are similar to attack and defense, but to a much smaller degree. Joe might have a better and more concise answer though.

There is also It's on one of the mountains I think? I can't even remember now. SAVE BEFORE YOU GO THERE. You will most likely die.
EDIT: It's on the bottom left mini-island / mountain thing of Fendel. But I will press this harder. SAVE BEFORE YOU GO.
EDITEDIT: LMFAO YOU DIED ANYWAY AAAHAHAHA.
It's okay Sarah. That happened to me too. Last time I saved was the boss before you got the shuttle. God I was so pissed about having to do those fights again.

It might describe this somewhere in-game in the battle tips, but the accuracy and evasion stats help with hitting and avoiding, obviously.
If an attack hits, it does 100% damage. If it misses, it will do 30% damage, and I believe it also does not stagger the enemy, but I'm not sure. Monsters that are guarding also take 30% damage. Downed enemies, and enemies in Eleth Break take 75% damage, unless it's an arte that forces downed enemies to stand. The source I'm reading states this for characters, but I believe it applies to monsters equally.
They otherwise don't affect your damage.
Sarah There's another site to the left of Yu Liberte, in the mountains. The spa resort. Oh and there's one to the south east of Barona continent I think on a peninsula, some crazy guy's house.
I need some help. Can anyone tell me what damage types the following artes do?
Wing Crush
Stagger Strike
Dual Impact
Demon Fist/Demon Fang
Concussive Bolt
Phantasm Flash
Also, run Curry-variants in your mixer so you auto-res?

Oh man I was in such a huge rush to edit my post to try and save you, but nope, it didn't work at all. My condolences. I'm laughing harder than I should be at this.

JoeTang;
Wing Crush - Insect - Aerial - Strike
Stagger Strike - Amorphous - Strike
Dual Impact - Strike - Impact
Demon Fist is Inorganic, Fiend, Impact. Demon Fang is Inorganic, Fiend, Slash.
Phantasm Flash - Spirit - Nova - Slash
Also, supposedly curry auto-res variants don't work in that fight. 1200+ damage = 50% damage reduction titles or all-divides work nicely.
