Someone already answered that for me and I gave my responce. You are probably right, but I'm waiting for extractions before I start scheming away.

Yeah, this patch is so horrible so far. Like, we don't know anything of the masteria revamp and new area, but it is already so freaking trashy. In a way never seen before, Nexon has managed to mess up masteria. AND A NEW CUBE SYSTEM? THIS UPDATE IS KILLING THE GAME! Yup, we can totally all know that with a single patch note notice.

So i'm not allowed to express how I feel about this patch seeing most of my favorite quests are being deleted?
How does that make any sense. Quests being deleted means that they are being deleted. What is unclear about that?
And a new cubing system.... Sorry but even if the damn things give only 1% max stats or a crappy skill and costs only 100 NX each
with 99% chance of succeeding. I STILL find it crappy.

I think I have the right to say I find this patch horrible so far. Dont you think?

EDIT: Also, where did I mention this new cube system is killing the game? I only said I disliked it.
And again this is my personal oppinion.

They specify 'weapons', and since all 3 of the secondary weapons of those jobs can get weapon potentials, i don't see why they would be exempt from this, unless Nexon did some smart coding

Oh I definitely see why they might be applicable. I just don't want it to be true. My only sliver of hope is that since this is not actually potential, it might be different.

What if the new quests they are replaced with are even better? And if you don't want to use the new cubing system, don't use it. No one is forcing to do so, and calling a patch "crappy" because of a system that you can simply choose to ignore is simply wrong.

Looking at the new bosses, areas, and monsters, I'm suddenly pumped up from this depressing thread.

Oh god. Sockets work on all gear? I thought I read it was just weapons. F'uck.

The boss is... hitting 15k? What's this madness...

And sockets for all gear=maple just took a great jump in the brokenity level which was already high enough...

The point is not about me using the new cube system, its about that once again
there is something being released that is giving extra stats somehow with the use of NX.
Thus giving another advantige over non-NX players. (And I'm not saying this because im not
using NX myself or anything because I do) In general I find it sucky. Why couldn't they made
it in such a way these new quests or place could provide these cubes instead of again nexon
trying to get money from us.

I only see it as making the gap again bigger between the rich and poor. Sorry but to me that sounds crappy.

And as of the quests. Even if the new quests are better, they're not the same as the ones we used to have.
Updating stuff/improving things is not always better. Some things are just meant to be left alone. Or at least
expanded instead of completely being removed.

ok, ignoring the alien cube crap, the new masteria does look pretty cool.

however, BECAUSE of the alien cubes, it kinda scares me if it's gonna be permanent. or have another permanent effect.

Ooh, I'm relatively excited c: I haven't been able to play maple in a while since I've got a job now.. but I'm definitely gonna make some time to play.

I have to say, aside from the new cube system/quests being deleted it does look pretty cool.

I'm praying for some epic cutscenes and new NLC music. Pleaseeeeeeeee

masteria had the best music in MS...hopefully they keep the trend. Phantom Forest and CW Mountains music are so awesome.
