An Incoming Cygnus Knight Revamp?
#21
As long as it isn't a whole new set of characters, like the resistance were, I'm okay with it. I prefer a thousand revamps than more new classes.

Maybe they'll expand the storyline quests? They seem to do that a lot lately.

I don't know if I can call it a revamp more than a quick change. All I notice was that they gained one other skill, excepting the Night Walkers and Thunder Breakers post-Justice.

If the skills ultimates can get are actually useful instead of the varying usefulness depending on the class we see now (and the quest to get them for normal adventurers was made to not be so time consuming...) then i would dub this iteration of cygnus revamp a success.

I'd have to agree with you here. Half the UA skills seem useless, and the only one that really is (Soul Driver) is just way too time consuming for the majority of people to care. By the time it got released in JMS, it also included the EXP drain for lower level mobs...so I'd have to grind on mobs (For days) that give me less than 100 EXP each to get a skill I'd probably not even use at this point. I spent 3 hours at those rabbit things got nothing, and said "Screw this." I haven't touched the quest since.

The quest needs to take significantly less time; It's like Nexon punished people for playing before UA was released. While they're at it they should make some of the skills useful, because from what I've heard Soul Driver is basically the only one that is.

Plus, a revamp for Cygnus in general is nice. The entire idea of them (From what I understand) is that they're supposed to be a class that's more powerful than everybody else, but the downside to that is that they can't pass 120, and as a result their usefulness is limited. From recently leveling a Soul Master...I gotta say I don't see it. I have the extra 70 STR from the extra 1 point boost, and I'm weaker than half my characters at lower levels. The worst part is that I have more %STR than most of my characters (Because of my old Lv.100 Paladin gear), and my SM is still crap. It's DPS is lower than my Paladin was at the same level, now that's horrible.

While i do agree that half of them are useless, Shark Wave is also pretty useful, at least until 4th job.

At least one thing we can be certain of is that Cygnus Knights won't be getting a 4th job. Now that post-120 quests have given to Cygnus Knights (the ones that level up blessing to 30) i really doubt they would raise the cap now.

Oh right, I forgot about Shark Wave. So 2/6 are useful. That's not even half. LF> Revamp.

Eh, Driver still has it's usefulness. If you do enough damage to 1hko with it, it still has enough range compared to most other Warrior skills to enhance training.

Oh also, what's with the Skill quests added for Cygnus? "Hey, let's make them crap until their last few levels!"

Omg its a paladin!
We're getting a paladin revamp!

Yeah I know I was being sarcastic but a man can dream right?
Anyway, that shield looks indeed like a force shield.

The Mage Skill Flame Gear is actually quite useful, or at least it seems to be useful. At bossing or grinding at LHC/Ereve, the skill proves to add quite some good extra damage.

Don't ask for that. They'll screw it up more than they already have.

Depends, its arguable for f/p (boosts mist eruption % until you reach the dmg cap) but I found it to be near useless while playing a ua i/l.

I don't think bishops have a use for it as well.

It sucks that I have to agree on this.
Damn you nexon... I cant even hope for a revamp since you'll probably screw it up even more.

It's damage was nerfed...and yet it still does about equal damage to Advanced Charged Blow (That's provided the UA version does the same damage as the SM version, I haven't checked recently, because I have no intention of spending the week to get the skill). If you're a UA, you can make great use of it at the very least in 3rd job, and possibly early 4th. Do you really expect a skill you get at Level...what...80? to be useful until 200?

The range isn't great, sure, but it still attacks in both directions, where other Warrior skills do not. It still does quite nicely on maps like Krus (Though you have to jump from the bottom to hit both rows).

I guess so, was mostly just hoping they'd be done with. It seems weird that they keep redoing the classes when there are hundreds of other things that could be added.

idea: level cap increase to 150 or 180....with reg adventurer's 4th job skills in their 3rd job category (that's how the original koc was created anyway) and add on a couple more skills that are more related to their element
and please please please please please have all tb's skills turn blue and wa's skills turn green

The UA Soul Driver is useless for the most part. Pre-nerf it was the best mobbing skill for warriors bar none. Post-nerf, it became useless for 3rd and/or 4th job (Depending on the job). It's still useful for 2nd job, but considering how faceroll leveling is, that falls off fast.

The only use for it at 4th job is hitting 2 platforms at Bearwolves, and even then that's really pushing the envelope vs other warrior mobbing skills.

There's still a few changes that can be addressed such as the previously mentioned ua skills.

For adv mages, there's several issues such as lackluster skills (ex. big bang/ultimates), eruption hitting 6 times
with a 10 second cooldown and glacial chain hitting the same amount with a 5 second cooldown, and mismatched
stance effects (f/p with 70% and i/l+bishop with 50%?).

I don't care for a revamp that just increases overall dps %.

They can even nerf archmages if it makes the class more enjoyable to play with improved animations and more skill variety.

Vampire is one of the most useful skills. Even more after removing the self healing skills from thieves. In a mob it's way better than drain, by the way.
