To be SUPER-PICKY, I am Illegit.
I have a secound account (Which I created to check out if my acc was bugged or not, I couldn't game anywhere, it got auto-fixed next day)
I am playing GMS outside of the USA.
Sometimes cursed.

But to go to the "aggressive" term, I am legit.
No hack, no bug abusing, heck, even not in TOUCH of a p.sever.
(To be honest, in EMS, at CarnevalPQ, I once got in a party of a hacker. I only noticed when I saw how fast he was killing [level 30, map 1 or so...], I wanted to leave after that round, but he leveled up to 31 [thus he couldn't do another run]. I reported him after I left his party and logged off. (report at the nexon page, ingame report didn't even exist then at EMS) ]

I haven't read a single post in this thread because based on the poll I'm sure it's full of people in denial/rationalizing their actions but I am about to make a super appropriate joke that is also super obvious so I hope no one else has made it yet.

That's not even a fair comparison, swearing doesn't hurt Nexon's bottom line any, stealing from stores does. There are plenty of things against the TOS that at worst make the game a little less pleasant to play (like people who don't change channel until you ask them, which is against the TOS but not really much harm)

I wasn't referring to swearing, I was referring to buying items you know came about as a result of a glitch like training at a spawn hacked lhc and or buying duped gm scrolls or white scrolls for example hell you could make a case for buying mystery mastery books as well. We as a community have decide that isn't so bad however it still gives the hackers money which is part of the problem though not a very big one unlike the EE hacked weapons or the 30 attack mask and shoes. That's the comparison were all criminals but they are the worse ones.

On the topic of hacked items, I refused to take part in them or purchase duped things simply because I've always had a personal entitlement to items I've made and cubed myself.. and the fact I want to keep those said items untradable

I was gonna oppose you until you brought up MMBs... cause my weapon's scrolled with legitimate scrolls (not GM ones, so not duped) and without WS.

Yeah, MMBs are a case where it's pretty unavoidable to buy duped/botted items (and have no way of knowing). You'll never in your lifetime hunt a MMB that gives the exact book you need, if you want to advance in the game you're gonna need them. That's Nexon's fault for sure, making a system so toxic to legitimate players. For one thing, it should be possible to hunt specific books. And for another, there shouldn't be a duping/botting problem so large that you have a 90% chance of buying duped books in the FM.

At present I'm living with it by accepting that I'll have level 10 skills on most of my characters until eternity (Paladin's the only one that maxed most of its skills before duping became a problem), but it sucks.

I would say I'm illegit for the following:

- 27atk VSS
- Training on glitched maps
- Buying duped WS/GM Scrolls (not that I know for sure, but it's a fair assumption)
--> I'm also kinda feel some of my other items may have been duped, though I bought them clean, like my Empress axe, Black Fist, etc.
- Smuggling
- Selling NX
- Multiple accounts
--> While most of my accounts were not created for this, I did take advantage of that 5k Maple Point referral event
- Sharing accounts (Ring mules and such, and back when I had multiple computers, I would leech my friends on their accounts)
- Selling/Buying Leech
--> Though I no longer do any of these things, I have strong feelings against leeching my own characters.
- Peaking at WZ files
- Playing a few versions outside my region, kMS and, more rarely, jMS.
- Swearing
- Farming PvP

For the most part, I try to make sure what I do doesn't harm anyone else or ruin their gameplay, like, no KSing, no scamming, no hacking, etc, but since this can be subjective, I may have; for example, leveling faster and having better items than people who don't do the same things I do, and while I feel that my level and ranking are inconsequential, many people probably feel otherwise.

Overall, I guess I would still consider myself illegit.

It bothers me a lot more than it should.

-Hob PQ glitch (133-145 iirc)
-Glitched LHC maps
-Sold 1 cube to my old guild leader
-Guy who did zak JQ for me in GMS (first off, sharing accounts) definitely was a hacker and possibly used flyhacks (I don't know for sure, and I didn't think about it at the time, but in retrospect it probably wasn't the brightest thing)
-Using Golden Richie+PQ glitch to get around
-Did the Golden Statue glitch a couple times
-KSing (mainly when I was below 100 on my DB
-Played KMS, not my KSSN
-Used xfire and fraps, probably illegit

Well lets come off clean then.

- Cursing in game
- Owning PSB I bought from fm, so that's likely to be duped.
- Buying nx with mesos
- Harassing some players (which weren't that nice to me either though)
- Have trained in glitched LHC spawn a few times

So yes, I'm illegit, but I'm not a hacker.

I'm in the same boat, except I go a bit further in that I have never bought anything illegit out of FM (as I've mentioned before, the only white scrolls I used were the ones farmed from that nightmare Christmas event where botters autolooted almost everything, my bow (heck, I even found the darn thing, so there's no way its duped) is scrolled via 10%s + Vegas + Pams...unless you want to try and tell me dupers dupe 10% bows for whatever reason) and the fact that I do not use any xx attack snowshoes, xx attack earrings/masks, or anything else that can be incriminating. While my equips are in the mediocre range, I still prefer mediocrity to duped or potentially duped gear.

As for training...its hard to be illegit when all you do is pap twice, gunboss, and then log off everyday.

If you want to take a religious aspect on this, then "we've all fallen short of the mark" (Which is why we all need Jesus!). However, from a REASONABLE standpoint (heck, I would say even BEYOND a reasonable standpoint), I would say that I am legit in the sense that should Nexon EVER for whatever reason ban ANYONE for exploiting their game, ranging from buying/using duped gear or scrolls to owning EE hacked equips to even training on glitched maps or abusing PQs, I can say with confidence that I am absolutely positive that I will not be amongst those banned for it, which is more than most can say.

Meh, just my two cents. I realize this thread can have no winners, though its an interesting thread nontheless.

The question shouldn't be about who's legit or not. Let me explain how the vicious cycle works because it seems a lot of people are unaware;

-Legit complains that hackers ruin game
-Hacker calls legit a hypocrite and tries to call him out
-Legit explains that it's not something they seek out but have to tolerate some things in order to even play
-Hacker tells them whatever they do is not their business, and to go play their own game with their fake pride. Aka legit corner.

This logic is completely retarded. The reason legit's hate hackers is because they can't play without making it a job to not look like a hypocrite, that's not a game that's a chore. Believe it or not some of us want to play without getting drowned in that sh`it. Hackers essentially call us hypocrites if we use the fm, if we go train on a glitched map, THAT THEY THEMSELVES CAME AND GLITCHED. They seek out legit's to try to teabag that elitist attitude, it's not us legit's that need to leave you alone you need to leave us alone. You dc hack us when you're losing an argument, when you don't get what you want, you glitch maps to speed up your own training, being inconsiderate of morals of other players, you dupe gear so you can try to make real life money on it so you can aspire to be those greatly exaggerated website owners, and you do every little bit to gain a shortcut. How about you play the game without being so insecure about your proggression and have fun.

Seriously, if you take joy into getting enough power to push people around, having some type of control in your miserable life, then why the f`uck are you playing an mmorpg? All hackers have proved to me is not power, but are so seriously inept and naive they cannot see the long term effects of their actions, only the quick buck they think make only to recycle into NX so they can go around exclaiming "LOL IM GODLY AND I PLAY THIS GAME FOR FREE".

No you play this game for free because you have no job and you can stay up all night waiting to exploit a company that just gave up on the entire game. You have no money to spend, so the choice isn't an option, it's a "must".

The current "drop system" is a complete failure. It's way to advantageous to the hacker/botter. The only other way of "hunting" your book would be to gacha in your class' town.

And when you think about it.. It isn't just MMBs.

What about recipes? Super rare recipes such as DAB, Abyss, Fearless, Android Heart, are close to impossible to hunt for. I spent many hours hunting a gold heart recipe even on 4x drop It's just tedious! Also items such as the dominator pendant.. how is someone suppose to make this without duping essences?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy items made rare by the challenge of making/earning them but it feels like the system is built around hackers instead of adjusted to combat them..

I bought GM sword scrolls before, no doubt those were duped.

There's a famous Arabic proverb: That what is legal is evident , and that which is prohibited is also plain and clear, and between the two are "grey areas."

Alot of people here dab into the grey areas. Does that make them illegit? that's debatable. It doesn't mean we need to go out and brand them like animals.

The people who have fallen into the darkside completely tho... that's a different matter.
