Yeah, that Skarnersssss didn't have any presence at all. Barely any presence. xD

KajitiSouls Wrote:Not saying that Will did this, but it's possible to play your "breadwinner" champ when your elo tanks, thus making it more likely you maintain your 100% win rate.

For the record: I played Malzahar in ranked both when my ELO was going up and when it was tanking.
Played a weirdo game earlier with Throes, her brother, Blaine, and Corn. Their team had 5 ADs lol.
Man the servers can be so shitty sometimes.
Was playing a match when all of a sudden I freeze up and can't move, die, and get the reconnect thing. Click reconnect but to no avail so I restart client and it tells me server is busy.
Restart computer and it lets me log on but during the summoning screen it decides to randomly close and not let me back on again.

Finally when the game is over the game lets me back on. Really what the hell. Thank god that wasn't ranked.
This game reminds me why I don't play eMS. Like seriously. If people can't speak a word in English, then they shouldn't even be playing this game.

I don't actually get that much when i play, but if i do it doesn't really matter cos i can still play without any team responses lol.

Pings with a ss or a 'champion x coming top/mid/bot' works for me, which foreign players can usually provide.

You can still manage basic communication via pings - ping them then where you want them to go/what you want them to attack. Usually they get the idea. Just don't spam pings. That pomegranate gets real old real quick, to a point where if one person is constantly pinging people I outright ignore them.

-Edit-
Something that I wonder if feasible - the ability to ping with the portrait of someone from your team/enemy team. IE, your ping shows up as enemy Tryndamere to show that he's moving somewhere or in the bushes, or to ping with your Ashe's portrait to ask her to ult somewhere.

This isn't as large of a problem as you make it out to be. At least not in from my experience, but I can also speak basic deutsch/french/dutch. Besides in soloqueue people do their own thing, regardless if you're trying to talk them out of it. And in arranged matches, you're obviously sided with people that can speak english. This game is also international and not exclusive to english speaking players. It's a large inconvenience, but it's neither players fault.
Just need the lingo to be able to speak with non english people.
It's actually pretty easy, and I find (despite the stereotype) that a lot of foreigners are actually quite intelligent at LoL.
 • Top/Mid/Bot/Jungle (which role you intend to fill)
 • SS (means MIA on eu server) coupled with directional pings
 • B (means to back off or go to base)
 • Drake (dragon)
 • Nashor (Big purple dragon guy, gives a nice buff if your team kills it)

Those are all common terms that are enough to get by with and have enjoyable games, regardless of whether they speak english or not.
This game is pretty fun.I bought Warwick as my first hero, and I think him and the person with the green sword are my favourites.

Just makes me wonder if they teach any foreign language in these countries. Not English here either, but in Finland nobody expects foreigners to be able to speak Finnish.

English is more of an international language nowadays. I expect that people would learn even the very basics of English, if they've ever been in the internet and if they are playing a game that's in English.

DAMMIT PEOPLE STOP TROLLING ME WITH YOUR LACK OF IGNS.

I'm wondering if I should add sixtysevenfrogs. I think he needs to post first though.

Not sure what Riot Games what thinking when they made a suspending system for not being a nolife. They should make LoL games shorter/more fast-paced at least. I'm not a fortuneteller. I have real life too and if I need to -for example- eat dinner, I can't just say "Sorry dad, wait 30mins"

LoL is most definitely overrated... slow-paced games, long download times, bad community, hard for starters and this suspension system...
Hehe it's ok just a tiny ban for leavers. Most of the new players since they put that thing in have had initial troubles with it.

After you really get hooked though you learn to set aside time for a whole game or not play at all.

3v3 and/or dominion games are _supposed_ to be faster, but I hear you.
I'm currently on my second ban, which is 3 days. 1st one is just 1 day.
It's rather retarded.
Thanks, Shu. \( ̄^ ̄Wink

The modes do have estimates on how long they take and you should always put that into consideration. I can't imagine you starting a game and suddenly there's dinner waiting for you 15 minutes later unless it's take-out.

You'll always have a pretty bad community in such a popular game. That's why you gotta play with friends and try and be positive each game. My gf always starts a game with "gl hf everyone!" and she's made quite a few LoL friends this way. :B

And moba games really aren't for everyone.... We're sort of stuck on this meta that you should try to passively farm/lasthit/boringphase and only go in when you feel it's safe or something. I can't even go kill lane in a co-op game since most of my friends are like "what is this aggression ahhhhhhh".

1/4 of the time I open up a youtube vid, my PC will BSoD. Time for me to make time to build the new PC. ( ̄д ̄)

I think you're confusing that for responsibility. You don't start another full game of soccer if you know you have to eat within the next 15-45 minutes. If your parents are cool with you needing flexible time for what you do, then you can get away with it.

Quote:LoL is most definitely overrated... long download times
Long download times? You mean the loading screen? You can blame that on people that have suboptimal systems. Tons of 3D games out there are much more taxing on the system than LoL is.

If you do get good at the game though, those people mostly disappear.

Quote:bad community, hard for starters

Yeah, the learning curve is crazy insane. Also, the way things are implemented, Riot has unintentionally front-loaded the trolls and ragers towards the newbie end of the player spectrum. Save for playing with friends, I dunno what to do about it =/

Quote:and this suspension system...

Again, responsibility. You're ruining the game for 4 other people because of your carelessness (9 for sportsman players). It's not right for the other people to leave either, and they'll get their justice served as well.
I also want to add you will generally get a bad community in any popular game so it's not really the fault of the game itself but more to the people. The banning doesn't apply to people who leave a few games either. You'd have to consistently leave often in order to even get your first ban.
