More EE hacked weapons gone
CrazyForDex Wrote:They broke the ToS and claiming ignorance shouldn't excuse them from it. It SHOULD BE more than obvious by now that certain weapons have beyond insane stats because they were hacked. Plus if you have enough knowledge about this game to go get nx, work the mts, and find those items, I would be willing to bet my paycheck that you had a pretty dam good idea that you shouldn't be purchasing that item. "Hmm, there are 20 items with really crazy stats all by the same person for a ton of money. That seems like a good investment!"

All those players should be happy they aren't banned and that Nexon doesn't pay more attention to their game.
I agree with everything you said, but I still would have compensated them more. Like I said, Nexon shares blame as well. They let this go on for a long time and I'm almost 100% sure that if that Golden Hammer Glitch never happened, those weapons would still be around today along with the starred ones which have been around for about 2 years now. Only reason why they're acting now is because they did pineappleed up on the Hammer Glitch and when they were removed, everyone, hundreds of them, piled on them at the Nexon forums saying well what about the Enhanced Hacked stuff?

That's why I don't think Nexon will give a pomegranate about the other armors/accessories. The majority just specifically bitched about the weapons.

If I hacked in to the Pentagon through holes in their security, the US government wouldn't compensate me for my time and effort.

Since a private corporation with a D rating from the better business bureau= the Pentagon, right?

Yes well, as much as I hate these type of game to real life metaphors, as they barely even relate, if you're the exploiter and the US government knows it is you, I highly doubt they let you continue to do this and wait till another similar issue to come up years later before they arrest you. You'd be arrested on the spot.

Nexon knew what was going on, who was doing it, and knew about the duping, for YEARS. They pretended to be oblivious for a while now. And the duping issue has been a major issue since last May I believe. They just didn't give a crap till enough people peached about it, me being part of that crowd. One pineappleing rollback has gone on because of duping the past year and it was recently, and there has been several ch crash exploits and other methods that these exploiters have used before that rollback and all in all, the hackers and leechers won in the end.

As for the enhanced hacked weapons, the original creators, DansPoor, Smirrnofred or however you spell it, they both should have been banned on the spot with the weapons in their possession and the game would be so far better off right now.

Is your brain malfunctioning? Can you not accept analogies? It is not hard to place oneself into the diagram laid before them. It's a simple and common practice.

Let's see if you understand this one: Drugs will be our hacks. Does the justice system compensate drug dealers when taking away their coke or meth? Correct answer is no. Period, do not bring up corrupt representatives and other nonsense. The reality and point of the system is to take such substances away. Same can be placed in this situation. Idiots who buy hacked gear deserve losing said gear for being an idiot without much thought. Why do you think these people need any short of compensation whatsoever?

Learn to read as I was not the one who originally even made the analogy. I was replying to the moderator. Also, this is not basilmarket, so try to be mature in these discussion threads, thanks.

I'm sorry but you're just too stupid to belong. Please leave this thread.

And I will take my comment out of analogy, then. If someone knowingly and illegally takes advantage of an exploit in a system, and the owners of the system remove the payoff they achieved, why should the owner then compensate for the time and effort put in to said illegal activities when they shouldn't have been doing them in the first place. That is, quite frankly, retarded.

My lord what is with people today?

Just read the whole thread and got a couple things out of it:

1) Everyone seems to really hate dupe/hacked weapons.
2) Everyone acknowledges duping hurts the game in some way.
3) Everyone wants to see duping gone.
4) Everyone has been arguing against each other when you've been agreeing with the same things the whole time.

Sure, there are those people who advocate duping, but I can say for the most part we all have the same ideals. If we just took the time to read posts more thoroughly and drop arguments with stupid people, this thread would be 3x shorter.

Just my 2c

They did compensate players who exploited the hammer glitch on ht necklaces.

However it has been known for awhile now that these weapons could be removed at anytime with numerous
"is it safe to buy X?" threads on basil and players still purchased them.

This one amuses me. You realize that killstealing and putting unnecessary characters in your name like x's and I's are also against the terms of service, right? If you wanted to get technical about it I'm sure the people who had their dupes reverted would have a better case for a class action suit than Nexon has a case for reverting their items. Nexon would probably go bankrupt if they had a player base consisting of a decent number of law students.

Oh, THIS thread again.
If you had bothered to do some research on the forums you would find that we've already established that a good deal of Nexon's ToS is unenforceable and is just there for effect. It turns out that we have several law students and lawyers on these forums. Nexon already has little to no GM presence in-game, are you seriously expecting them to enforce that? People have been tempbanned for KSing before.
The people who dupe have no case. They DON'T OWN THE ACCOUNT.

So basically you're wrong. Don't ask for a tl;dr version.

On that note, what the pineapple happened to this thread.
