still seeing 596's in MTS
and i HEARD (don't take my word from it) that a few weps that were item locked are still there.

Yeah I also heard some people still got 600+ ST and 39x cravens ><
So if Nexon thinks they did their clean sweep and got em all, they're wrong

Xzotic only read your first two posts and am only going to address why even "minor" duping is an issue worth being addressed.
Within the game there exist tiers of equipment: common, uncommon and rare. When duping exists, rare equipment becomes plentiful. The other two tiers become useless. That may seem like a good thing at a glance but in reality, it has three major harmful effects on the game. The first being that it removes one of the major points of the game: using the strength you've previously gained to continue improving your character through the (sometimes dreadful but necessary) act of farming. Beyond that, if you can have an unlimited number of that item, the act of scrolling becomes a joke. Seems like a good thing but it is a large part of the game. So simply duping your equipment removes two vital parts of the gaming experience, whether you enjoy them or not. The final effect lies in the market. Duping does and has destroyed the economy beyond repair. It's not just limited to those big items. When everything is plentiful then everything is worthless. There may as well be no market. Just because it's somewhat beneficial to you or other players doesn't mean it's not a blight on the game.

You're pathetic MrDoucheBnGo Wrote:No. That's not an excuse; that's an observation and an inference. How long as dupe been around?Oh, so because it has been around for long, you figure Nexon has been working their asses trying to solve it, is that it? Ton of glitches&bugs were/still around for AGES before Nexon bothered to deal with them Have you been playing Maple for more than a year? You just made another excuse on their behalf, congratulations, idiot. Or, they could, y'know, remove all of the items, and there wouldn't be anything left to dupe And then, dupers could, y'know, make new, similar, same or different items because dupe is still around And deleting the current items to let the community know they're doing something about it is something I brought up earlier in my posts without you guys having to say that, because I agree yet for the same reasons I mentioned it isn't going to happen and again, not even once have they removed the result of a problem without fixing the problem first. Sarah I agree with what you're saying, and maybe if you were to read more than just a couple of my posts you would realize that all I'm saying is that these people should QQ about DUPE being fixed, and not contantly QQ about a few MTS items that have been duped. They don't even mention the dupe problem, all the do is QQ about how those 20-30att items are in the MTS and Nexon doesn't act on it. As long as we have dupe around this will never changed and if anything- only new items will appear in the market.

Is there any reason why you're obnoxiously posting in bold? Do you think it makes your point stronger or something?
Xzotic Wrote:Ton of glitches&bugs were/still around for AGES before Nexon bothered to deal with them Ding ding, we have a winner. That's why we're not satisfied with the bare minimum. Nexon had essentially dissapeared, you think we should praise them for doing something they should have done in 2008? *claps* congratz nexon for taking 4 years to resolve an issue, for the time being. Do you have any proof dupe is completely fixed? Because from my experience they'll just find another hole. Nexon finally took action because the duping even got unmanageble by their "dontunderstandourowngame" standards. We aren't going to praise them for fixing a dent in a car wreck. Sure they got rid of the weapon, but even the other gear's that have been duped cause an impact, even if it is only 10 attack difference. The thing is, that gear has become a standard, it's affordable and better than you could realistically make yourself. This creates standards, and makes us as a community for dependent on hackers rather than nexon the company. It's a retarded system and it's retarded to appreciate anything that nexon does unless it's a full comb sweep. We are entitled to that at the very least. These small undercover operations will have an insignificant impact towards the blackmarket running the game, that's the problem. Xzotic Wrote:Or, they could, y'know, remove all of the items, and there wouldn't be anything left to dupe Constant managing and removing of these items will discourage hackers from even trying, much like people are discouraged right now buying hacked equipment, when not even two weeks ago it was the "in" thing to do. Xzotic Wrote:@Sarah Nexon has been incompetent and let this snowball roll for years if you encourage their half ass'd methods they will continue to give you their half ass'd methods. They need to do the entire job and the entire job right. They need to do what EMS did and take off the gloves already. The economy is ran by a black market, ran by hackers, and you're expecting us to appreciate the little they have done? Kid we've been appreciating the little to nothing for nearly 2 years, we're fed up with this, the game might as well do what CMS does and give permission for them to hack.

You're whole argument is "if Nexon isn't going to stop me from cheating, why stop?"
The other people in this thread have wonderfully pointed out how and why that is wrong, and you keep going back to it. As for having them start removing the items while dupe methods are still around; here's a personal analogy. I have Crohn's disease. I've had it for five years; there is no cure known (sound like anything?). My doctors have tried many different drug cocktails to alleviate the symptoms, even when they come back. What you're saying is that my doctor and I should not do anything about the symptoms, because, what's the point if the underlying disease is still there? Everyone arguing against you realizes how stupid you sound, and I am starting to find your posts (the ones responding to the previous analogies like mine) slightly offensive. And please, for the love of god, don't retaliate with a "REAL LIFE != MAPLE HURR YOU WRONG"

Xzotic Wrote:"Ding ding, we have a winner."Clarify this for everyone because the entire problem that you seem to have is you don't know what you're arguing. Now, if you believe that the only way to solve the entire duping problem is to remove duping you're wrong. If you believe we should get rid of dupe, well thank you doctor sh`it, your input was much enlightening.

In order to resolve duping they have to remove the duped items while attemping to fix it. If no action is taken and duping is allowed until the issue is completely fixed it will only be encouraged and thats exactly what happened. In order to manage the game properly, even if they can't stop the cause, they can remove the effect, or product. Duping would then be discouraged as their methods, although successful, is not worth the effort.
If you can't stop the production of an item, you can stop the regulation by removing it. If the items are periodically removed, people won't waste money on them, dupers will stop applying the effort, and the entire ordeal is gone. That would require some form of management on nexon's part. Thus you can discourage the the community of duping just by doing what they should have been doing removing it, whether or not they remove the ability to do so is irrelevent as it gives no profit. Thats the point everyone was making and what you seem to be contradicting, if you agree with those statements then you don't have to say "i agree" if you disagree I would like some logical reasoning pm'd to me because I dont see it. Edit: Guess that's that then. Choose your words more carefully so the entire website isn't trying to correct you on a very obvious point -shrugs-

Kirov Wrote:Not in the slightest. I think they got of incredibly lucky only getting the item deleted and nothing else. I agree with you on some level, but this has been around too long and become too widespread to warrant a carpet-bomb-style perm ban on anyone who owns or has owned one. If this was nipped in the bud, well before everyone and their maple-grandma had one, then sure, hammer away. On the other hand, I do wish Nexon enforced some kind of negative consequence that showcased their anti-hacker policy, since right now they seem like they just don't care. I believe that Nexon should be more willing to temp ban a month or even a week for these kinds of offenses. With temp bans, none of the time, effort, or money put into your character(s) is really lost and noone has to play appeal-ban lottery, clogging the already backlogged system. Another good thing about temp bans is that it won't make hacking a one-way road. Instead, it says, "You did wrong. Here's your punishment. You can come back and try to play things straight after it's over." The only issue I can think of with temp banning is cash item expiration, but Nexon has already shown they can extend these timers. |
